If authoring your own identity is more important than campaign size, verify character-creation and build options in the specific game and edition before purchasing; do not infer them from the fact that a title is called an RPG.
If dialogue, relationships and consequences matter most
Cyberpunk 2077 explicitly connects choices with the story and world and includes relationships among its core activities. The Witcher 3 is also a narrative-focused RPG with consequential quests, but its protagonist and setting shape the range of choices available to you. Look for documented information about branching quests and relationship systems rather than assuming that every large RPG offers the same kind of agency.

If shooting and hacking are the main attraction
The Witcher 3 changes the action foundation substantially. Its official descriptions support improved combat, but they do not present it as a first-person shooter or a cyberware-and-hacking sandbox. Treat it as a story and world substitute, not a weapons-system substitute.

Deus Ex
Reader discussions frequently raise Deus Ex when the desired qualities are cyberpunk atmosphere, role-playing systems and story. Those are sensible reasons to investigate it, but the available official product details for this guide were not verified well enough to make precise claims about a particular entry’s world size, platform support, edition or current availability. Check the exact game, release and storefront before treating it as a recommendation. Do not assume that a cyberpunk setting alone means it offers Night City’s scale or Cyberpunk 2077’s complete mix of systems.
The Outer Worlds
The Outer Worlds also appears in reader conversations about science-fiction RPGs with story and character-building elements. As with Deus Ex, the specific feature and platform information needed for a reliable current comparison was not established here. Verify the edition, supported platforms, world structure and progression systems for the version you are considering. It may satisfy a science-fiction or choice-driven preference without being a one-to-one replacement for a dense city adventure.

What the current edition information says
The official Cyberpunk 2077 page lists editions for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. It also describes an Ultimate Edition that contains the base game and the previously released Phantom Liberty expansion, along with other included content described on the product page.
CD PROJEKT’s November 21, 2023 announcement said the Ultimate Edition’s physical release was planned for select markets from December 5, 2023, for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC. That is a dated release announcement, not proof that a physical copy is currently in stock or sold in every region. Check the retailer and platform listing at the time of purchase.
PlayStation 4 warning
Sony states that the PS4 base game received its last patch on November 8, 2022 and is no longer supported. PlayStation 5 is required to download later patches and to buy and play Phantom Liberty. Therefore, a PlayStation reader comparing editions should distinguish between owning the base game on PS4 and accessing the later-supported version and expansion on PS5.
