Tom’s Hardware’s testing found good ripple results, but also a tight 12V over-current protection margin and fan noise at high load. At the review’s $105 MSRP, its lighting is the clearest reason to choose it over less expensive alternatives—not a performance advantage.
What the GameMax RGB PRO 750G offers
GameMax specifies a fully modular, 750W ATX 3.1 power supply with PCIe 5.1 support and a native 12V-2×6 GPU power cable. Its 12V rail is rated for 62A, or 744W. The manufacturer also lists a temperature-controlled 14 cm fan and 25 lighting modes. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent performance findings. GameMax product page

The manual’s cable overview lists one 24-pin motherboard connector, two 4+4-pin CPU connectors, three 6+2-pin PCIe connectors, one 12V-2×6 connector, eight SATA connectors, three peripheral connectors, one floppy connector and one ARGB sync lead. Check the packaging for the exact revision if a particular connector count matters. GameMax RGB PRO PCIe 5.1 user manual
How it performed in testing
In its review published 25 September 2026, Tom’s Hardware measured average efficiency of 90.8% at 230 VAC and 88.6% at 115 VAC, and reported good ripple results. At 115V, its results cleared the three 80 PLUS Gold efficiency checkpoints, narrowly at two of them. The outlet characterized the electrical platform as competent, while pointing to fan noise at high load and economical secondary capacitors as compromises. Tom’s Hardware review

Protection and high-draw systems
Tom’s Hardware measured the 12V over-current protection trip point at 67A—about 108% of the rail’s 62A rating—and over-power protection at approximately 825W. The reviewer considered the OCP headroom tight for a unit bearing an ATX 3.1 badge, particularly when a high-draw graphics card is used near the PSU’s rated output and creates short power excursions. That is a caution about operating margin, not a finding that the unit is unsafe.
For a system with a demanding modern GPU, compare the card’s power needs and the whole system’s expected load with the PSU’s capacity, and consider the reviewer’s transient-behavior concern. A 750W label alone does not settle whether this is the right match for a particular build.

Is it actually 80 PLUS Gold certified?
GameMax advertises Gold-level efficiency, and Tom’s Hardware’s measured results support Gold-level efficiency. However, the review reported that it could not find a public certification entry for the exact RGB PRO 750G model in the CLEAResult, Cybenetics or PPLP databases when it checked. A CLEAResult report for the distinct GameMax GZ 750G model does not certify the RGB PRO 750G; model names should not be conflated. CLEAResult report for GameMax GZ 750G
Is the RGB PRO 750G worth its price?
Tom’s Hardware listed a $105 MSRP and showed an Amazon offer of $104.99 when its review was published on 25 September 2026. It described the MSI MAG A750GL PCIE5 and Corsair RM750e as alternatives that were often closer to $80 at that time. Those are historical observations, not current prices; check live listings and the exact model before buying. The review did not independently test those alternatives.

- ✅〖80 Plus Gold Certified〗Power supply 1050W with 80 Plus Gold certified, 90% or higher efficiency with lower electricity consumption.
- ✅〖Stable & Safe Output〗DC-DC structure, LLC resonance assist, 12V synchronous rectification provide stable & safe output.
- ✅〖ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 Ready〗Comes with a 12VHPWR 16pin connector to provide up to 600W for power hungry Graphics card. The power supply can sustain up to 2x total power excursion and 3x GPU power excursion, fully ready for all future high performing components.
- ✅〖ARGB Lighting Control〗 ARGB SYNC with motherboard ARGB software,25 smart lighting modes with RGB memory function.
- ✅〖Ultra-quiet & Durable Fan〗The 140mm whisper-quiet fan with hydraulic bearing to maintain good heat dissipation.
At roughly the review’s price, the RGB PRO 750G is difficult to justify on electrical performance alone: the efficiency and ripple results were respectable, but the review also found compromises in noise and protection headroom. Its ARGB lighting is the strongest differentiator. If you do not specifically want the lighting, compare current prices and reviews for other 750W supplies before deciding.

What to check before buying
- GPU cable: Confirm that your graphics card uses the included native 12V-2×6 cable or one of the listed PCIe connectors, and follow the card and PSU instructions for connection.
- Load and transients: Assess the expected system load and the GPU’s power behavior; the review’s measured OCP margin is a relevant consideration for a build that will run near the unit’s rating.
- Noise: The reviewer reported fan noise at high load, so consider whether the PSU will often operate heavily loaded in your system.
- Warranty: The GameMax product-page heading refers to five-year warranty language, while Tom’s Hardware describes a ten-year warranty. Because those sources conflict, verify the term for the exact model revision and your region on the packaging or a current manufacturer warranty page before purchase.
- Connectors and revision: Use the manual as a guide, but confirm the connector inventory for the box you will receive if your build depends on specific counts.
