When does the Aegon’s Conquest movie come out?
TheWrap reported on September 29, 2026, that Warner Bros. announced a theatrical release for June 1, 2029. GamesRadar repeated June 1 in a September 30 report, attributing the date to Deadline. Variety Australia/New Zealand also reported on September 30, but gave June 6, 2029. TheWrap and GamesRadar therefore support June 1, while Variety’s date conflicts; the exact primary studio announcement has not been located in the cited coverage.

Until Warner Bros. confirms the date directly, treat June 2029 as the reported release window and June 1 as the best-supported specific date—not a fully reconciled studio-confirmed date.
What is the movie about?
The reported story follows Aegon I Targaryen’s conquest of Westeros, alongside his sister-wives Rhaenys and Visenya. Their dragons—Balerion, Vhagar, and Meraxes—are part of the account. TheWrap identifies George R. R. Martin’s Fire & Blood as containing the conquest story, making it relevant background reading; it is a broader history of House Targaryen, not a movie-specific tie-in.

The conquest takes place before the events of Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon, and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. That places the film earlier than the existing named live-action Westeros series, although the reports cited here do not provide further details about how the adaptation will structure its story.
