The published evidence does not show that the Galaxy Z Fold8 lasts longer than the standard Pixel 10 Pro in a like-for-like test. Samsung lists slightly less battery capacity for the Fold8, while its headline playback claim uses a different workload from Google’s general battery-life estimate. One independent Fold8 test recorded 12 hours 19 minutes of 5G web surfing; there is no comparable Pixel 10 Pro result in the sources available here.
That distinction matters for anyone asking whether the Fold8 can ease battery anxiety: its figures offer useful reference points, not a guarantee of all-day use or proof that it outlasts the Pixel. The Pixel 10 Pro here means Google’s standard 6.3-inch phone, not the Pixel 10 Pro Fold.

What the published numbers say
| Phone | Battery capacity | Manufacturer’s battery claim | Independent test cited here |
|---|---|---|---|
| Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 | 4,800 mAh typical; 4,660 mAh rated, according to Samsung’s 2026 product specifications. | Up to 26 hours of local 720p video playback in Samsung’s internal lab test, using a prerelease model, Bluetooth earphones and LTE. The video played on the main display. | 12 hours 19 minutes of 5G web surfing in Tom’s Guide’s 2026 review test. |
| Google Pixel 10 Pro | 4,870 mAh typical; 4,707 mAh minimum, according to Google’s 2026 specifications. | 24+ hours of battery life; up to 100 hours with Extreme Battery Saver, according to Google. These are Google’s stated estimates. | Not stated in the sources cited here; no directly comparable standard Pixel 10 Pro test is available. |
The capacity figures describe stored energy, not how long either phone will last in a particular person’s hands. The Fold8’s typical capacity is 70 mAh below the Pixel 10 Pro’s typical figure, but that difference alone cannot predict runtime: screen use, network conditions, brightness, software and workload all matter.

Why the headline endurance claims do not settle the comparison
Samsung’s 26-hour figure is a specific playback test
Samsung describes the Fold8 as offering “continuous playback up to 26 hours.” Its qualification is important: the figure comes from internal lab testing with a prerelease phone playing a locally saved 720p video on the main display. Samsung says actual time varies with factors including network, settings, video format, brightness and battery condition. It is not a general estimate for mixed daily use or a third-party comparison with the Pixel.

Google’s 24+ hours is a different kind of claim
Google gives the Pixel 10 Pro a general 24+ hour battery-life estimate, and says Extreme Battery Saver can extend that to up to 100 hours. Those figures are not presented as the same local-video protocol Samsung used for the Fold8. Neither the difference between 26 and 24 nor the larger Extreme Battery Saver figure establishes which phone lasts longer under matched conditions.
What the independent Fold8 test adds
Tom’s Guide reports 12 hours and 19 minutes for the Galaxy Z Fold8 in its 2026 battery test, which it describes as web surfing over 5G. That is a useful independent reference point for the Fold8 under that publication’s test method. It is not a promise of an individual user’s runtime, and it cannot establish a win over the Pixel 10 Pro without a Pixel result from the same test and protocol.
Fold8 screen use changes the practical question
The Fold8 can be used on its cover screen or unfolded on its larger main display. Samsung’s up-to-26-hour playback qualification specifically concerns video on the main display, but the cited independent test result does not provide a matched comparison of folded and unfolded use. A personal account of battery anxiety should therefore say which screen was used and what the phone was doing; otherwise readers cannot tell whether the experience reflects the Fold8 itself or a particular pattern of use.

For a useful personal comparison, record the conditions that shape everyday drain:
- Whether the Fold8 was folded or unfolded, and roughly how much time was spent on each screen.
- Screen brightness and display settings.
- Cellular conditions and time on Wi-Fi versus mobile data.
- Time spent streaming, browsing, taking photos, gaming or using other demanding apps.
- Idle time and whether battery-saving modes were enabled.
Those details do not turn one person’s experience into a controlled test, but they make the account more interpretable and less likely to be mistaken for a universal result.

Google says the Pixel 10 Pro can reach up to 55% charge in about 30 minutes with a 30 W USB-C PPS charger or higher, sold separately. Google also specifies Pixelsnap wireless charging up to 15 W. These charging specifications describe the Pixel; they do not establish how quickly it charges beside the Fold8 or identify a charger that is optimal for both phones.

Can the Fold8 claim to have cured battery anxiety?
Not as a general or independently verified conclusion. The cited material contains no population-level measure of battery anxiety and no like-for-like independent test of the Fold8 against the standard Pixel 10 Pro. Someone who has used both phones may reasonably describe their own experience, but that first-person claim needs to be supported by actual use and should not be presented as a result established by these specifications.
On the evidence available, the careful conclusion is narrower: the Fold8 has a 12-hour-19-minute 5G web-surfing result from Tom’s Guide and Samsung’s qualified 26-hour local-video claim. The Pixel 10 Pro has a slightly higher stated typical capacity and Google’s separate 24+ hour estimate. These figures answer different questions, so they do not show which phone will last longer for a particular owner.
