Samsung lists the Fold 8 from $1,899.99 before trade-in in the United States; the Google specifications page reviewed does not establish a current US list price specifically for the Pixel 11 Pro XL, so a reliable price difference cannot yet be stated.

These are published specifications and manufacturer claims, not results from a controlled head-to-head test. The two battery figures use different descriptions, so they do not establish which phone lasts longer in the same real-world conditions. Samsung’s camera summary lists wide and ultrawide rear cameras; Google specifies a 5x optical telephoto. Google’s up-to-120x Pro Zoom is a digital/processing zoom claim, not 120x optical zoom. Megapixel counts and zoom labels alone do not establish comparative image quality.

Which phone is better for your needs?
Choose the Fold 8 if the unfolded screen matters most
The Fold 8’s 7.6-inch inner display gives you more screen area for reading, viewing content, or keeping multiple tasks in view. Its 5.5-inch cover screen handles phone use when folded, but the device’s defining advantage is the larger opened workspace—not a conventional single-screen layout.
Choose the Pixel 11 Pro XL if you want a large, conventional phone
The Pixel XL has one 6.8-inch display rather than a cover screen and an unfolding inner screen. Its listed camera hardware includes a dedicated 5x optical telephoto, which the cited Fold 8 camera summary does not list. Google also specifies Tensor G6. Those distinctions may matter if you prefer a standard phone form or want a listed optical telephoto lens; they do not, by themselves, prove which device takes better photos.

Consider the Fold 8’s stylus and FlexMode limitation
Samsung says the Fold 8 does not support S Pen or FlexMode. If stylus input or using the phone partly folded in FlexMode is essential, that is a material drawback for this model.
What is the price difference?
For the United States, Samsung lists the Galaxy Z Fold 8 from $1,899.99 before trade-in. The Google specifications page reviewed documents Pixel 11 Pro XL features and storage but does not clearly expose an XL-specific US list price. That means the available figures do not support a dollar difference or a claim that one is cheaper.

Compare the same country and storage tier using current manufacturer list prices or clearly identified retailer prices. Keep trade-in credits and temporary promotions separate from list prices, and do not substitute a Pixel 11 Pro price or a Pixel foldable price for the Pro XL’s price. Regional configurations and offers can differ. Samsung Mobile Press dates general availability for the Fold 8 to August 7, 2026; Samsung Gulf says it was unveiled on July 22, 2026.
How do storage and memory compare?
Both phones are listed in 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB configurations, but RAM depends on the tier. The Fold 8 pairs 12 GB RAM with 256 GB or 512 GB, then 16 GB with 1 TB. The Pixel XL pairs 12 GB with 256 GB and 16 GB with 512 GB or 1 TB. Compare prices for matching storage rather than assuming similarly named tiers have identical memory.
