Galaxy Watch6 is testing One UI 9 Watch, but the latest live rollout tracker still lists Watch6 and Watch6 Classic at Beta 3, not a confirmed Beta 4. Samsung has documented the One UI 9 Watch design changes that include a Now Bar-style glanceable interface and elevation information in workout and compass views, yet a complete Watch6-specific Beta 4 changelog, build number and release date have not been published. Owners should therefore treat reports claiming a finished Watch6 Beta 4 rollout as provisional.
What is confirmed for Galaxy Watch6
As of 16 October 2026, a live One UI 9 rollout tracker records Galaxy Watch6 and Galaxy Watch6 Classic in beta testing at Beta 3. The tracker records a Watch6 Beta 3 update dated 7 October 2026 and gives no stable-release date for either model.

Samsung’s separate reporting about One UI 9 Watch Beta 4 concerns the newer Galaxy Watch8 and Galaxy Watch Ultra. That update uses firmware ZZJ1, includes the October 2026 security patch and addresses bugs involving Samsung Health, health sensors, the always-on display and home-button shortcuts. The same report says the update is on the way to Galaxy Watch6 and Watch5, but it does not provide a complete Watch6 Beta 4 changelog.
That distinction matters: the One UI 9 Watch family may share design and software goals, but a feature described for the platform is not automatically confirmed on every watch or in every regional build.

What the Now Bar and altimeter changes mean
Glanceable information on a round display
Samsung’s One UI 9 Watch design story describes an interface built for circular Galaxy Watch screens, with a clearer hierarchy and radial presentation. The company shows workout information such as location, elevation changes, heart rate, distance and pace in real time. This is the context in which owners are likely to encounter the updated glanceable information experience often described as the Now Bar: current activity information is surfaced so that key status data can be read without navigating through several screens.
Samsung has not published a Watch6-specific Beta 4 note that lists every Now Bar behavior, supported app or shortcut. Its presence should therefore be understood as a One UI 9 Watch design direction until the Watch6 changelog or installed build confirms the exact implementation.

- Larger Super AMOLED Display: Expanded screen area with slimmer bezels for improved visibility and usability.
Elevation and altimeter readouts
The strongest official evidence for the altimeter-related change is Samsung’s workout and Compass presentation. During a run, the design shows elevation changes alongside location, heart rate, distance and pace. Samsung also illustrates a circular Compass screen with an elevation reading.

When will Beta 4 reach your Watch6?
There is no reliable date yet. Samsung rolls out One UI updates gradually, and the tracker reports device-specific states rather than one worldwide schedule. Eligibility can vary by model, country and carrier. A Watch6 owner may therefore see a beta notice later than a Watch8 owner, or not see the same beta at all.
Check the Samsung Members app for a beta notice tied to your account and region, then check the watch’s software-update screen while the watch is charged and connected to its paired phone. If no invitation or update appears, that is not evidence that the watch is unsupported; it may simply reflect staged regional distribution. Do not sideload a package identified only by an online post, because the exact Watch6 build has not been verified.

Can people outside South Korea join?
The available rollout information confirms regional staging but does not establish a worldwide beta-eligibility list. It therefore cannot confirm that owners outside South Korea can enroll, nor that every country will receive the same build. Samsung Members is the authoritative place to check whether a beta program is offered for your account and market. If no local notice appears, wait for the regional rollout rather than assuming a Watch8 package is compatible with Watch6.

Samsung says One UI 9 Watch connects the workout journey from route planning through real-time data to post-workout analysis. After an activity, detailed records remain available in Samsung Health. The design story also describes all-day health views: activity is summarized before sleep, overnight condition is recorded, and morning views can present sleep, heart-health and vital-sign insights.

Bottom line for Watch6 owners
Galaxy Watch6 is part of the One UI 9 Watch beta program, but the latest confirmed tracker state is Beta 3. Samsung has clearly documented the circular-display design, real-time elevation information, Compass elevation readout and Samsung Health integration that define the update’s experience. Beta 4 is verified for newer watches and reported as forthcoming for Watch6, not yet documented with a Watch6-specific build or changelog. Install only an update offered through Samsung’s own regional beta channel and wait for those details before treating the rollout as complete.
