Use the right model labels
“iPhone 18” and “iPhone 18 Pro” are not interchangeable names. Pro branding can indicate a different camera system, screen, materials, processor configuration, battery capacity, storage range, or price. The confirmed Apple figures in this article belong to the Pro announcement unless the text explicitly identifies the iPhone 17.

4. Score evidence quality
Give the greatest weight to an official specification page and independent measurements on a released retail unit. Give less weight to an announcement claim that has no test method, and no purchasing weight to an anonymous leak. Record the date and region for every number because prices, storage options, firmware, and carrier variants can change.
How to compare Galaxy and iPhone cameras responsibly

For a useful comparison, check screen-on endurance, standby drain, navigation, camera recording, gaming, call time, charging time, and heat. Confirm whether the test uses the same brightness, refresh setting, network, temperature, battery-health state, and software version. Also check charger availability and maximum wired or wireless charging under the exact regional model.

Compare the software version shipped on each phone, the manufacturer’s stated update commitments, the length of security coverage, and how quickly updates reach your region and carrier. Apple identifies iOS 27 for the announced iPhone 18 Pro models; that does not establish the support schedule for a standard iPhone 18 or a future Galaxy S27.
Ask whether the features you depend on are available in your language and country. AI tools, call recording, payment services, satellite functions, and health features can be limited by region, age, account type, or regulation. Confirm behavior on the exact model before treating a press-release feature as a benefit you will receive.
Repair, warranty, and carrier checks
Two phones with similar prices can have very different ownership costs. Before purchase, verify:
