The Galaxy S27 Ultra has not been announced, but new 4RMD renders and a mock announcement trailer make the rumored phone easier to picture. The visuals point to Samsung replacing the Ultra’s recent separate vertical camera arrangement with a much larger horizontal or asymmetric rear camera plateau. Everything shown remains unofficial: the trailer is fan-made, and the camera hardware, battery, processor, price and launch date are not confirmed by Samsung.
What the new Galaxy S27 Ultra visuals show
The most consistent design idea across the latest leak coverage is a broad camera island spanning part of the phone’s upper rear panel. Rather than placing individual lenses in a mostly vertical line, the alleged S27 Ultra uses a horizontal or slightly lopsided plateau. The same general treatment has reportedly appeared in renders of a new Pro model, although that product is also unconfirmed.

SamMobile’s description of the leaked layout identifies two circular openings and one oblong section. A September 28, 2026 OnLeaks post relayed by SamMobile suggested that the oblong section could combine a telephoto camera, microphone, sensor array and LED flash. That internal arrangement is only an interpretation of unofficial CAD material, not a published Samsung specification.
The S Pen is still visible in the CAD-based images, indicating that Samsung’s built-in stylus concept may continue with the Ultra. The renders do not establish the pen’s dimensions, features or any change to its storage mechanism.

Estimated size and the camera-bump trade-off
Android Authority estimates the phone at 163.76 × 78.25 × 7.97 mm, with the camera island measuring approximately 12.53 mm at its thickest. Those figures come from leaked CAD data and may be slightly inaccurate. They suggest a body close to the current Ultra’s footprint while making the camera plateau substantially more prominent than the phone’s main frame.

On those estimates, the S27 Ultra would be only slightly larger and thicker than the verified S26 Ultra body. The reported 12.53 mm camera-island thickness is a separate measurement, so it should not be read as the thickness of the entire handset.

Rumored hardware changes — none confirmed
Leak reports attach several possible hardware changes to the redesign. They should be treated as speculation until Samsung publishes a product page or technical documentation.

- Display behavior: PhoneArena mentions possible DC dimming. The reports do not establish whether it would be available at all brightness levels or in every region.
- Processor: Coverage speculates about a next-generation Qualcomm flagship chip. There is no confirmed model name, regional chipset split or performance data.
- Zoom cameras: Reports suggest Samsung could remove the 3× telephoto camera and rely on a periscope zoom camera instead. The number, focal lengths and sensors in the final device are unknown.
For context, Samsung’s 2026 interim report lists the S26 Ultra with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen5 or Exynos 2600, Android 16 and One UI 8.5. It also identifies Privacy Display as an S26 Ultra feature. Those are confirmed S26 Ultra facts, not specifications for the S27 Ultra.

Is the Galaxy S27 Ultra trailer official?
No. The reported trailer is a 4RMD mock trailer, not a Samsung announcement. It visualizes the leaked design and should not be confused with a presentation, teaser or launch video released by Samsung. Its appearance cannot confirm the final camera layout, software features or release schedule.

SamMobile reports that Samsung is expected to announce the S27 Ultra in January or February 2027, while stressing that early renders can change. 9to5Google also discusses a possible January arrival but provides no official date. Samsung has not confirmed a launch event, regional availability or retail release window.

There is likewise no authoritative price or retail listing. A reported $1,499 figure was attributed to an account with an uncertain track record and should not be treated as a confirmed price. Buyers should wait for Samsung’s announcement before ordering accessories: cases, screen protectors, chargers and replacement S Pen listings may not fit a design with a new camera plateau or altered dimensions.

How to read these leaks before launch
The design signal
The repeated camera-plateau treatment across independent render coverage is the clearest visual trend. It indicates a possible aesthetic and mechanical redesign, but repeated leaks still do not make the component layout official.
The specification gap
Battery capacity, dimming method, chipset, telephoto count, display size, weight and charging remain open questions. A render can show openings and proportions; it cannot verify the sensors or electronics behind them.
The timing gap
January or February 2027 is a leak-based expectation, not a commitment. Samsung could change the design or schedule before any public announcement.
