The Galaxy S26 Ultra’s headline promises are straightforward: Samsung specifies a 5,000 mAh typical battery, up to 31 hours of video playback, seven generations of Android OS upgrades, and seven years of security updates from global launch. The S Pen is included and stored in the phone, while the retail box contains a USB Type-C cable and SIM ejector tool rather than an explicitly listed wall charger.
The important qualifications are just as useful as the headline figures. The 31-hour claim is a manufacturer video-playback specification, not an independent mixed-use test; regional pages identify a security-update period through 28 February 2033; and the S Pen lacks Bluetooth Low Energy and Air Actions. The details below separate what Samsung actually states from what has not been established.

How long does the Galaxy S26 Ultra battery last?
Samsung lists a 5,000 mAh typical battery capacity for the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Its Canada business specification page lists up to 31 hours of video playback. Samsung’s 2026 global launch announcement also identifies the battery capacity as 5,000 mAh.
“Up to 31 hours” describes a particular manufacturer test category: video playback. It is not a promise that every owner will obtain 31 hours of screen-on time, cellular use, gaming, camera work, navigation, or ordinary mixed usage. Samsung does not state in the cited material that this number is an independent laboratory result, and no independent battery test was included in the available evidence.

What the published figures mean
- Capacity: 5,000 mAh, identified by Samsung as a typical capacity.
- Runtime claim: up to 31 hours of video playback.
- Measurement scope: video playback only; Samsung does not provide an equivalent mixed-use runtime in the cited pages.
- Real-world variables: brightness, refresh-rate behavior, processor load, camera use, mobile signal, Wi-Fi, location services, temperature, app activity, and battery age can all change runtime.
Use the 31-hour figure to compare like with like: another phone’s video-playback specification may be a useful reference, while a separately published “typical day” or screen-on estimate is a different measurement. Treating unlike test types as equivalent can make either phone look better than the evidence supports.
What is the Galaxy S26 Ultra software and security-update policy?
Samsung’s official US launch announcement states: “Galaxy S26 series will be supported with seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates from the global launch date.” That is the company’s stated policy for the series, including the S26 Ultra.
OS upgrades versus security updates
The two promises cover different maintenance. Seven generations of OS upgrades refers to major Android and One UI version updates. Seven years of security updates refers to security fixes and related maintenance; it should not be read as seven additional major OS versions. Samsung’s wording starts both periods from the global launch date, rather than from the day an individual customer activates a handset.

Samsung’s Canada and UK specification pages list the security-update period as valid until 28 February 2033. That is a dated regional specification shown on those pages. It aligns with the seven-year commitment, but it should not be presented as proof that every country, carrier edition, or model code uses identical wording or exactly the same end date.

Update delivery can also be staged by market, carrier, or device variant. A customer who needs a particular patch on a particular date should check the local Samsung support page and the software-update screen on the exact regional model, rather than assuming that a global announcement means simultaneous distribution everywhere.
Does the Galaxy S26 Ultra come with an S Pen?
Yes. Samsung says the S Pen is included with the Galaxy S26 Ultra and pre-installed in its designated slot. It is not described as a separate purchase required to use the phone’s built-in stylus features.
What can the included S Pen do?
Samsung’s US support information describes note-taking in Samsung Notes, access to Air Command, translation, and screen capture among the pen’s functions. These are the practical uses Samsung highlights for the bundled stylus.
Which S Pen features are unavailable?
The same support page says Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Air Actions are not available. That means the S Pen should not be treated as a remote-control stylus for gesture-driven actions or Bluetooth-dependent features. The absence of BLE is a product limitation, not a setup problem that can be fixed by pairing or changing a setting.

Which phones is this S Pen compatible with?
Samsung lists compatibility with the Galaxy S26 Ultra and Galaxy S25 Ultra. Do not generalize that compatibility to every Galaxy S26 model: the cited support information does not say that the S Pen works with the standard S26 or other variants.
What comes in the Galaxy S26 Ultra box?
Samsung’s US support page lists these box contents:
- The Galaxy S26 Ultra phone.
- A USB Type-C 3A charging cable.
- A SIM ejector tool.
Samsung separately clarifies that the S Pen is included and already installed in the Ultra’s stylus slot. In other words, the stylus is part of the phone package even though it is described separately from the loose items in the box.

The cited support page does not list a wall charger among the box contents. It also does not establish a specific compatible charger model. Do not assume that a charger is supplied simply because a charging cable is listed. If you need a power adapter, confirm the contents for your country and exact model code before purchase.

What is not established by the box list?
The published list does not confirm a case, screen protector, wired earphones, or any other extra item. Packaging can vary by market, and retailer bundles can add products that are not part of Samsung’s standard contents. Verify the sealed-box contents against the local product page or Samsung support information for the region where the phone will be sold.
Which accessories does Samsung identify?
Samsung names four accessory categories for the Galaxy S26 Ultra:
- Protective cases.
- Anti-reflecting films.
- Fast chargers.
- Wireless charging solutions.
Those categories show what Samsung intends to support, but they do not establish that a particular third-party case, film, charger, or wireless accessory will fit or perform correctly. Exact-model compatibility matters because cutouts, camera modules, stylus access, charging coils, and regional packaging can differ.

How to choose an accessory without confusing it with box contents
- Check that the listing names Galaxy S26 Ultra, not merely “Galaxy S26 series.”
- Confirm the model or regional variant where the seller provides one.
- For chargers, verify the connector and the seller’s stated output claims; Samsung’s box list only confirms the 3A USB Type-C cable.
- For cases and films, check that the design leaves the S Pen slot and camera area accessible.
- Confirm local availability and return terms, since Samsung’s cited pages do not validate individual retailer listings.
What does Samsung’s support information not tell us?
The cited launch and specification pages establish the software-support commitment, but they do not settle local warranty terms, repair prices, service-center availability, or contact methods. Those details vary by country and sometimes by sales channel. Use the Samsung support information for the country where the phone was purchased when you need warranty or repair guidance.
Best Value
- 6.8" Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display with 1–120 Hz adaptive refresh rate, up to ~1750 nits brightness, HDR10+ support, and ultra-smooth responsiveness for gaming and scrolling.
The same regional qualification applies to product specifications. Samsung’s Canada and UK pages show the 28 February 2033 security date, while a US page may present the commitment in different wording. Check the exact market and model number before relying on a regional date for an imported handset.
How should you compare the S26 Ultra with another phone?
This is not an apples-to-apples exercise unless both manufacturers publish the same type of information. Use the following axes and preserve each number’s test conditions.
| Comparison axis | Galaxy S26 Ultra evidence | What to require from the other phone |
|---|---|---|
| Battery capacity | 5,000 mAh typical, Samsung specification | The manufacturer’s stated capacity and whether it is typical, rated, or otherwise qualified |
| Battery runtime | Up to 31 hours of video playback | A video-playback result measured under a comparable method, not a mixed-use estimate |
| OS support | Seven generations of OS upgrades from global launch | Number of major upgrades, the starting date, and whether the promise applies to the exact model |
| Security support | Seven years from global launch; Canada and UK pages show validity through 28 February 2033 | Security-update duration and a regional end date, if one is published |
| Stylus | S Pen included and stored in the phone; BLE and Air Actions unavailable | Whether a stylus is included, where it is stored, and which remote or Bluetooth features work |
| In-box power hardware | USB Type-C 3A cable listed; wall charger not established | A precise box-content list for the same market and model |
A phone with a larger capacity is not automatically the longer-lasting phone, and a longer support period does not guarantee that every update arrives on the same day in every market. Keep those distinctions visible when making a purchase decision.
Galaxy S26 Ultra purchase checklist
Before ordering or opening the phone, check these points:
- Confirm that the listing is for the Galaxy S26 Ultra, not another S26 model.
- Check the country-specific Samsung specification page for the model code and support date.
- Interpret “up to 31 hours” as Samsung’s video-playback claim, not a guaranteed daily runtime.
- Verify whether the local package includes only the phone, USB Type-C 3A cable, SIM ejector tool, and pre-installed S Pen, or whether a retailer has added a bundle.
- Plan for a separate wall charger unless the local package explicitly lists one.
- Buy cases, films, and charging accessories labeled for the exact Ultra model.
- If you rely on stylus remotes or gestures, account for the lack of BLE and Air Actions.
- For warranty or repairs, use the support channel for the country of purchase.
Bottom line for prospective buyers
Samsung’s published specifications make the Galaxy S26 Ultra a long-support phone with an integrated stylus. The measurable claims are specific: 5,000 mAh typical capacity, up to 31 hours of video playback, seven OS-upgrade generations, and seven years of security updates from global launch. The regional Canada and UK pages put the listed security period through 28 February 2033.
The buying caveats are equally concrete. The S Pen is included but does not provide BLE or Air Actions; the box list names a USB Type-C 3A cable and SIM ejector tool but does not establish a wall charger; and real-world battery life cannot be inferred from the video-playback maximum alone. Match the market, model code, accessory, and test type to your needs before treating any headline specification as a guarantee.
