During Amazon Prime Big Deal Days, the unlocked Galaxy S26 Ultra 256GB (White) was reported at $979.99, against a $1,399.99 list price. That is $420 off. The deal is for Prime members only, and Amazon says the event ends October 7, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. PDT.
The catch is the reference price. The $1,399.99 figure is higher than the phone’s earlier US price, so the real saving against the old price is smaller.

Why $420 overstates the saving for the 256GB model
TechTimes reported that the 256GB model’s US list price recently rose from $1,299.99 to $1,399.99. Measured against the earlier price, $979.99 is about $320 lower, not $420. That price increase comes from secondary reporting. No Samsung notice confirming it turned up.

The $420 headline is still arithmetically correct against today’s list price. But the more honest comparison is what you would have paid a few weeks ago. This article also makes no claim that $979.99 is an all-time low, because no reliable price history backs that up.
Do you need Prime?
Yes. Amazon’s event FAQ says Prime Big Deal Days 2026 runs October 6–7 and that the event deals require Prime membership. Without membership, expect the regular listing price instead.

Amazon versus a carrier offer
AT&T advertises a separate trade-in promotion for the Galaxy S26+ and S26 Ultra. Its listed conditions include an eligible plan, 36-month installments, an eligible trade-in and bill credits. Nothing indicates it can be combined with Amazon’s price. If you are weighing the two, compare these:
- The price you pay today versus the total over the installment period.
- The monthly plan cost the carrier deal requires.
- Whether your trade-in is eligible and what it is worth.
- Whether bill credits stop if you cancel or change plans.
The Amazon deal has no plan or installment obligation as reported, so it suits buyers who want an unlocked phone and no contract.

The Bottom Line
$979.99 for an unlocked 256GB S26 Ultra is a real discount, but think of it as roughly $320 off the earlier price rather than $420. If you have Prime and want the White 256GB model, confirm the live listing and checkout total before the event ends tonight.
