The claimed one-hour gap is not verified by the available results. Tech4K reports that the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max lasted 11 hours 50 minutes in its mixed-use endurance sequence, but its accessible article text does not give the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s exact runtime. It is therefore not possible to confirm how close the two phones were in that test.
What the comparison test reports
Tech4K describes a sequence consisting of three hours of PUBG gaming, three hours of 1080p YouTube playback, 90 minutes of social-media use, and then camera use until the battery ran out. It reports 11 hours 50 minutes for the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, which it identifies as having an 8,500mAh battery. The article text calls the Galaxy S26 Ultra and Google Pixel 11 Pro XL the shortest-lasting phones in the six-phone group, but does not provide the S26 Ultra’s exact runtime.

Because that missing figure is essential to calculating the difference, the headline claim that the S26 Ultra finished within an hour of the Xiaomi cannot be checked from the published text available here. The phone named in the comparison is the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, not the similarly named Xiaomi 17 Pro Max.

Why other Galaxy S26 Ultra battery results differ
Other publications report substantially different S26 Ultra runtimes, but their results come from separate tests and should not be treated as scores from one shared benchmark.

| Publication and test | Reported Galaxy S26 Ultra result |
|---|---|
| PhoneArena, 2026: overall battery estimate | 7 hours 53 minutes |
| PhoneArena, 2026: browsing | 20 hours 10 minutes |
| PhoneArena, 2026: video | 9 hours 54 minutes |
| PhoneArena, 2026: gaming | 11 hours 49 minutes |
| Tom’s Guide, 2026: battery test | 16 hours 10 minutes |
The overall estimate and the browsing, video, and gaming figures are separate PhoneArena test results, not parts of one continuous mixed-use drain. Tom’s Guide’s 16-hour-10-minute result comes from its own battery test. Different workloads, settings, and procedures can produce different runtimes, so none of these figures supplies the missing S26 Ultra result from Tech4K’s sequence.
Does a bigger battery mean longer battery life?
No. Capacity is one factor, not a direct runtime guarantee. Tech4K reports 8,500mAh for the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max and says OnePlus 15 lasted longest in its group, while the Xiaomi’s reported 11 hours 50 minutes was not the group’s top result. Workload, display use, software, radio conditions, and device efficiency all affect how quickly a phone uses its stored energy. The Tech4K text does not specify enough testing controls to establish that brightness, network conditions, software versions, and settings were held constant.

Results from other publishers underline why workload labels matter: Tom’s Guide reports 25 hours 13 minutes for the OnePlus 15 and nearly 18 hours for the iPhone 17 Pro Max in its test. Those figures are useful only within Tom’s Guide’s own method; they do not establish how those phones would rank in Tech4K’s gaming, video, social-media, and camera sequence.
Battery life and charging are separate comparisons
GSMArena identifies the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s battery as 5,000mAh, the same nominal capacity as its predecessor. It reports 60W wired charging and up to 25W Qi2.2 wireless charging. According to GSMArena, the phone has no built-in magnets, so a magnetic case is needed to align its charging coil for wireless charging at that level. Check that a case is compatible with the precise S26 Ultra model before buying it.

GSMArena’s review reports that the phone reached 84% after 30 minutes and charged fully in 43 minutes in its best charging run; the review notes that results varied across runs. These charging figures describe a charging test, not how long the battery lasts in daily use.

How to judge an S26 Ultra battery claim
- Check the workload: a web-browsing loop, video playback test, gaming run, mixed-use sequence, and overall estimate measure different things.
- Keep the source attached to the number: compare results from the same publication and test method rather than ranking unrelated runtimes.
- Separate capacity from endurance: mAh describes nominal battery capacity; it does not tell you the runtime for a particular workload.
- Look for testing conditions: brightness, connectivity, software, settings, and regional or model variants can affect results. The accessible Tech4K text does not state enough controls to verify these conditions.
- Treat the one-hour claim as unconfirmed: without the S26 Ultra’s exact runtime in Tech4K’s test, the gap cannot be calculated.
