Samsung’s US prices for the Galaxy S26 lineup rose on October 1, 2026: most listed 256GB and 512GB configurations are up $100, while the 1TB Galaxy S26 Ultra is up $200 to $1,999.99. The change has also been reported in other markets, though increases vary by currency. Some Amazon listings reportedly still showed launch prices immediately after the change, so check the final price and seller before buying.
How much do the Galaxy S26 models cost now?
Android Authority reported the following US configuration prices on October 1, 2026. The launch prices below are the comparison prices in its report; they are not a promise that any retailer still offers them.
| Model and configuration | Launch price | Reported price after increase | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Galaxy S26, 12GB/256GB | $899.99 | $999.99 | +$100 |
| Galaxy S26, 12GB/512GB | $1,099.99 | $1,199.99 | +$100 |
| Galaxy S26 Plus, 12GB/256GB | $1,099.99 | $1,199.99 | +$100 |
| Galaxy S26 Plus, 12GB/512GB | $1,299.99 | $1,399.99 | +$100 |
| Galaxy S26 Ultra, 12GB/256GB | $1,299.99 | $1,399.99 | +$100 |
| Galaxy S26 Ultra, 12GB/512GB | $1,499.99 | $1,599.99 | +$100 |
| Galaxy S26 Ultra, 16GB/1TB | $1,799.99 | $1,999.99 | +$200 |
That makes the Ultra’s 1TB version the sharpest increase in the listed range: it costs $400 more than the 512GB Ultra at the reported prices, compared with a $300 gap at launch. Tom’s Guide separately listed starting prices of $999 for the S26, $1,199 for the S26 Plus and $1,399 for the S26 Ultra. Those rounded starting figures align with the new 256GB US prices, but should not be confused with the precise configuration prices in Android Authority’s table.
Did Samsung raise prices only in the US?
No. GSMArena reported higher prices at Samsung stores in the US, Canada, the UK, mainland Europe and India. Its reported S26 Ultra prices were:

Why did the Galaxy S26 price go up?
Android Authority connected the increase to a global shortage of memory components. That is reported industry context, not a formally confirmed explanation from Samsung: the reports cited here do not include a direct Samsung statement identifying the cause of the October price change.

The S26 launched in February 2026 at reported US starting prices of $899 for the S26, $1,099 for the S26 Plus and $1,299 for the S26 Ultra, with store availability beginning March 11, according to the Associated Press. At a showcase in San Francisco, Samsung device-experience chief TM Roh said, “AI must become part of our infrastructure.”
Can you still find the old price on Amazon?
Possibly, but treat it as a listing to verify rather than a guaranteed deal. Android Authority and Tom’s Guide reported that some Amazon listings still showed launch pricing shortly after the increase. Retailer prices and stock can change quickly; compare the product configuration, seller, and checkout total with Samsung’s listing before ordering. A lower displayed price is only useful if the listing is for the same storage tier and comes from a seller you are comfortable buying from.

Should you buy the 512GB or 1TB Galaxy S26 Ultra?
At the reported US prices, the 1TB Ultra is $1,999.99 and the 512GB model is $1,599.99—a $400 difference. Choose the 1TB model if you expect to use the extra built-in storage and prefer not to manage space; if 512GB meets your needs, the price difference is substantial. Compare the actual retailer price for each configuration, since a remaining launch-price listing could change that calculation.
Before deciding, compare the total price rather than the headline number. Check the exact capacity, seller and availability, and account for any trade-in or financing offer only after confirming its live terms. The cited reports did not verify carrier promotions, so those need to be checked separately.
