What battery chemistry does the Galaxy S26 FE use?
SamMobile reports that the Galaxy S26 FE uses conventional lithium-ion chemistry rather than silicon-carbon chemistry. SamMobile’s report, updated August 27, 2026, addresses the phone specifically. Samsung’s own U.S. announcement does not state the battery chemistry.

What are the S26 FE’s battery and charging specifications?
Samsung Electronics America lists these specifications in its August 27, 2026 product announcement:

Samsung says the phone can reach up to 69% charge in around 30 minutes with a 45 W adapter. That is the company’s charging estimate, not an independent test result; the adapter is sold separately in the U.S.

Does 4,900 mAh mean the battery lasts longer?
No. Capacity and chemistry are different specifications, and neither alone establishes how long a phone will last in everyday use. Samsung says the 4,900 mAh typical figure is based on third-party laboratory testing under IEC 61960; its stated rated minimum is 4,755 mAh. The reviewed sources provide no independently measured runtime figure for the S26 FE, so they do not support a specific claim about hours of use.
Did Samsung promise silicon-carbon batteries for the S26 FE?
No such promise is established. In a February 25, 2026 report, TechRadar quoted Samsung executive Sung-Hoon Moon, Executive Vice President and Head of Smartphone R&D, saying, “So for the silicon battery, we are getting it ready.” Moon also said the technology had to pass Samsung’s “very rigorous validation standards.” TechRadar’s report describes Samsung’s general technology plans, not a commitment to put silicon-carbon chemistry in the S26 FE.
