Their prices depend on storage, discounts and trade-in offers, so compare the same capacity and check the current checkout price. Neither phone is an automatic winner: the right pick depends chiefly on whether you value pocketability or more screen and battery capacity.
At a glance: Galaxy S25 vs Galaxy S26 FE

Which phone is the better fit?
Choose the Galaxy S25 for a more compact phone
Its 6.2-inch display makes the standard S25 the smaller option in this comparison. If you want a phone that takes up less space in a pocket or bag, the S25 is the more natural fit. Its 10MP telephoto camera also has a higher listed resolution than the S26 FE’s 8MP telephoto, though that specification by itself cannot predict photo results.

Choose the Galaxy S26 FE for a larger display and battery
The S26 FE’s 6.7-inch display provides more screen area for reading, video and other content. Its 4,900mAh typical battery capacity is higher than the S25’s 4,000mAh figure, and it supports 45W wired charging rather than 25W. Those are specification differences, not proof of longer real-world battery life or a particular charging-time advantage over the S25.

Display and size: compactness versus viewing area
Samsung lists the S25’s display at 6.2 inches and the S26 FE’s at 6.7 inches. Both use Dynamic AMOLED 2X panels, but their listed sizes make the practical distinction clear: the S25 takes up less space, while the S26 FE gives you more room on screen. Samsung measures these diagonal figures across the full rectangular display, so the usable area may be smaller around the rounded corners.

Processors: Snapdragon versus Exynos
The S25 uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy; the S26 FE uses Samsung’s Exynos 2500 (3nm AP). The chip names and manufacturing description do not settle which phone performs better in everyday use. No independent head-to-head benchmark evidence is established here, so claims that one is categorically faster would go beyond the available comparison.
Cameras: similar main-camera resolution, different telephoto figures
Both phones list a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultrawide and a 12MP front camera. The difference in the rear camera specifications is the telephoto: 10MP with 3x optical zoom on the S25, versus 8MP with 3x optical zoom on the S26 FE. A higher megapixel count does not, on its own, determine image quality; no direct camera test establishes a winner between these models.

Battery and charging: what the figures do—and do not—tell you
Samsung lists the S25 battery at 4,000mAh. For the S26 FE, Samsung gives a typical capacity of 4,900mAh and a rated minimum of 4,755mAh. The larger typical capacity is a useful specification difference, but it does not guarantee longer runtime: usage, network conditions and other factors affect battery life.

The S25 series specification sheet lists 25W wired charging. Samsung says the S26 FE supports 45W wired charging and can reach up to 65% in around 30 minutes with Samsung’s 45W adapter; the adapter is sold separately. That charging claim applies to the S26 FE with the specified adapter, not to a direct comparison with S25 charging times. The S26 FE also lists 15W fast wireless charging; Samsung’s S25-series material confirms wireless charging support, but the evidence here does not establish a like-for-like wireless charging comparison.

Price: compare current US offers by storage
Prices below are US Samsung listings, not universal prices or guaranteed current checkout totals. Samsung’s S26 FE US page was observed on October 7, 2026, with promotional prices; Samsung’s S25 listing was observed the same day and showed differing values between page elements. Promotions change, and trade-in eligibility or carrier credits can affect what an individual buyer pays.
| Model and storage | Samsung US price observed October 7, 2026 | Price context |
|---|---|---|
| Galaxy S25, 128GB | $799.99 | Observed listing value; Samsung page elements may differ. |
| Galaxy S25, selected 256GB listing | $899.99 | Observed selected listing value; the page selector showed differing values. |
| Galaxy S26 FE, 128GB | $599.99 | Promotional price observed on Samsung’s US purchase page. |
| Galaxy S26 FE, 256GB | $699.99 | Promotional price observed on Samsung’s US purchase page. |
Samsung announced a US S26 FE launch price starting at $699.99. That launch figure is distinct from the later promotional prices above and should not be treated as a permanent price. For a fair decision, compare the same storage capacity, the same kind of offer, and the final price after any trade-in or carrier conditions you actually qualify for. The lower displayed S26 FE prices do not establish that it will always cost less than the S25.

Software support and storage availability
Samsung advertises seven generations of Android OS upgrades and seven years of security updates for the S26 FE, measured from its global launch. The S25-series US specification sheet lists seven years of OS and security updates. Bottom line: decide by size first, then compare the offer
Pick the standard Galaxy S25 if a compact phone is your priority. Pick the Galaxy S26 FE if you want a larger display, higher stated battery capacity and faster maximum wired charging. The processor and camera specifications do not establish a performance or photo-quality winner, and the price advantage depends on current offers and matching storage configurations.
