The Galaxy S24 Ultra launched in the US at $1,299.99, while Samsung set the base Galaxy S26’s US launch price at $899.99—a $400 difference based on those starting prices. They are different tiers, launched in 2024 and 2026, so that price gap is not a like-for-like comparison. Samsung’s cited announcement gives detailed specifications for the S24 Ultra but does not establish a full base-S26 spec sheet; the S26 Ultra’s specifications should not be mistaken for the standard S26’s.
What is the price difference between Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and Samsung Galaxy S26?
At US launch, the S24 Ultra started at $1,299.99 and the base S26 at $899.99. The $400 gap is arithmetic from Samsung’s published launch prices, not a separate Samsung-published statistic or a current price check.

These are starting prices, not matched-storage prices: the S24 Ultra launch lineup included 1TB, while Samsung’s US S26 announcement listed 256GB and 512GB. Promotions, trade-in offers, storage configuration, retailer, and region can change the amount a buyer pays, so verify current offers before purchasing. Samsung listed Amazon Stores, Best Buy, Samsung Experience Stores, Samsung.com, and carriers as S26 preorder channels.

Which has better specs, the Galaxy S24 Ultra or Galaxy S26?
A complete hardware winner cannot be established from the cited official specifications: Samsung’s cited S26 announcement confirms the base model’s launch price, storage choices, preorder channels, and general availability, but not a complete specification table. The detailed S26 specification table referenced in the announcement is for the S26 Ultra, a different model. Its display, camera, dimensions, and processor details should not be attributed to the base Galaxy S26.
Here is what Samsung’s cited US announcement confirms for the S24 Ultra:

What the price and spec comparison means for buyers
The comparison is between a 2024 Ultra-tier phone and a 2026 base-tier phone, not two models in the same tier. The lower S26 starting price does not by itself establish better value: the cited information does not permit a full comparison of their screens, cameras, processors, batteries, physical dimensions, or other base-S26 hardware.
Rank #3
- 6.8″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display with a 1–120 Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to ~2600 nits peak brightness — delivering a bright, sharp screen with smooth scrolling and great outdoor visibility.
If you are weighing the two, first check current prices for the storage configuration you actually want, then consult a complete, official base-S26 specification listing for the features that matter to you. The S24 Ultra’s confirmed spec list can serve as a concrete reference point, but it cannot fill in missing S26 details.
