The Galaxy S24 FE and Galaxy A37 5G both have 6.7-inch, 120Hz-class displays, but they prioritize different things: the S24 FE adds a dedicated 3x optical telephoto camera and a longer stated software-support window, while the A37 is listed as lighter and has a larger battery capacity. There is no reliable universal price difference: Samsung’s published prices are from different markets, dates, and configurations.

Which phone has the better display and design?
Both phones have a 6.7-inch FHD+ display with a refresh rate reaching 120Hz. Samsung describes the S24 FE panel as Dynamic AMOLED 2X with adaptive 60/120Hz, while the A37 uses a Super AMOLED panel rated up to 120Hz. Those descriptions do not establish which screen looks better in everyday use; brightness, calibration, viewing conditions, and personal preference matter, and the cited specifications are not a comparative test.
The A37 is 17g lighter by Samsung’s listed figures. It is also slightly taller and wider, but thinner: 162.9 × 78.2 × 7.4mm versus the S24 FE’s 162.0 × 77.3 × 8.0mm. Samsung notes that S24 FE weight can vary by market, so confirm the specification for the version sold locally.

How do their cameras differ?
The clearest hardware distinction is the third rear camera. The S24 FE has an 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom; the A37 instead has a 5MP macro camera. Optical telephoto gives the S24 FE a dedicated way to frame distant subjects, while the A37’s macro lens is intended for close-up subjects. Both have a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization, and the S24 FE’s ultrawide is listed at 12MP compared with 8MP on the A37.
Those lens and resolution differences describe flexibility, not guaranteed image quality. They do not establish which phone takes better photos or video across conditions. The front cameras are listed at 10MP for the S24 FE and 12MP for the A37; resolution alone does not determine selfie quality.

Battery, charging, and durability
Samsung lists a 4,700mAh battery for the S24 FE and a 5,000mAh typical battery for the A37 in its regional specification. Capacity alone cannot predict which lasts longer: screen use, connectivity, software, and other conditions affect endurance, and the cited material does not provide a head-to-head battery test.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsSamsung’s US support information rates the A37 for up to 45W wired charging and says A-series phones do not support wireless charging. The cited S24 FE specifications do not establish a directly comparable charging figure, so a wattage comparison would be incomplete. Both phones carry Samsung-listed IP68 ratings; that rating is a manufacturer specification, not a promise that damage from every exposure is prevented.

How long will each phone receive software updates?
Samsung’s launch materials state seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates for the S24 FE. For the A37, Samsung states up to six OS generations and up to six years of security updates, with market and model variation. On those published commitments, the S24 FE has the longer support window.
Update timing can still vary by country, device variant, and carrier. For example, Samsung’s update page for S24 FE model SM-S721B listed an Android 16 update released September 3, 2026, with an August 5, 2026 security patch level; Samsung cautions that update details vary by device, country, and carrier. That record applies to the named model and is not a schedule for every S24 FE. Source: Samsung update record for SM-S721B.

What is the price difference?
A current, like-for-like price difference cannot be stated without a country, storage tier, seller, and price-check date. The available Samsung figures are useful as historical or launch context, not as a live comparison:
| Phone and market | Published price | What the figure represents |
|---|---|---|
| Galaxy A37 5G, United States | $449.99 starting price | Samsung’s 2026 US launch announcement; starting price, not a matched storage-tier retail quote |
| Galaxy S24 FE, United States | $649.99 for 128GB; $709.99 for 256GB | Samsung US MSRP list effective October 2024; historical MSRP |
| Galaxy A37, South Korea | ₩598,400 | Samsung Business Korea launch price for the regional 6GB/128GB version in 2026 |
Because the US A37 starting price and S24 FE MSRPs come from different dates and price contexts, subtracting them would not produce a current US price gap. The Korean A37 price is a different market and configuration. For a useful comparison, check the same country and seller basis, match storage where possible, and note whether each listing is unlocked or carrier-sold.
Samsung announced the S24 FE on September 27, 2024, and the A37 5G on March 25, 2026. Samsung’s global A37 announcement said availability would begin April 10 in select markets, while Samsung’s US newsroom listed US availability beginning April 9, 2026; these are regional schedules, not contradictory global dates. Quick Recap
Which one should you choose?
- Choose the S24 FE if a dedicated 3x optical telephoto camera and Samsung’s longer stated update commitment are your priorities.
- Consider the A37 if its lower listed weight, larger stated battery capacity, macro camera, or local price makes more sense for your use. Capacity and specifications do not establish longer real-world battery life.
- Compare local prices before deciding if cost is the deciding factor; the published figures above do not show today’s matched price difference.
