Don’t assume a Galaxy S23 Ultra comes with a screen protector meant for continued use. Samsung’s packaging description lists a “front protector” as a packaging part, while Samsung separately announced a dedicated S23 Ultra screen-protector accessory. Box contents can vary by market, so check the contents listed for your region and retailer.
Does the Galaxy S23 Ultra have a screen protector pre-installed?
Samsung’s description of the Galaxy S23 series packaging includes a front protector, but it identifies this as one of the package’s components—not as the separately sold screen-protector accessory. The description does not establish that every S23 Ultra is shipped with a protector designed to remain on the display during everyday use.

Samsung also cautions that product specifications may vary by country, region, model, and carrier. That makes it unwise to treat one market’s box contents as a guarantee for every S23 Ultra. Samsung’s packaging overview lists six parts, including front and back-cover protectors.

What is the separate Galaxy S23 Ultra screen protector?
Samsung Electronics Japan announced a dedicated Galaxy S23 Ultra Screen Protector accessory on April 20, 2023. Its description presents a transparent protective film with an installation set and says the package includes two front-film sheets. Samsung Japan also describes that accessory as compatible with fingerprint-sensor use and touch input; that compatibility claim applies to this product, not to screen protectors generally.
#1 Best Overall
- [Ceramic Film Material] 6 layers of material protection, from the explosion-proof layer to the oil repellent anti-fingerprint layer for material upgrade. Compared to PET material, it is easier to install, more anti-fall, and more anti-fingerprint.
- [Fingerprint ID] PET film is a new material specifically designed to be compatible with Galaxy S23 Ultra ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
- [7H Hardness] Galaxy S23 Ultra screen protectors are created from 7H hardness material to protect your screen from daily wear, such as dust, oil and fingerprint smudges, and can offer some protection in the event of a drop!
- [Screen Protector Compatible with Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Screen Protector 6.8"] Specially designed ONLY for Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Screen Protector 6.8", 100% touch accurate. Not compatible with any other Samsung models.
- [HD Clarity] Ultra-clear ensures amazing clarity for viewing experience and Face-ID compatibility.
The announcement documents the accessory and its stated contents in Japan at that time. It does not establish current stock, price, or availability in other markets. See Samsung Japan’s accessory announcement for the regional product details.
Should you buy a screen protector?
If you want a protector for ongoing use, look for a separately sold screen protector that explicitly lists the Galaxy S23 Ultra as compatible. Check that the listing matches your exact phone model and market, and choose based on the material and installation method you prefer. Film and glass are different constructions; fit, installation tools, and fingerprint or touch compatibility can also differ by product. The Samsung Japan announcement does not compare the performance of other protectors.
