Galaxy S22 wallpapers leaked before Samsung launched the phone series in February 2022. The early files included four static images, later expanded coverage reported a larger set of static, live, and DeX wallpapers. They were shared as leaked or early wallpapers—not as a standalone download officially released by Samsung.
What leaked, and when?
On December 12, 2021, before the Galaxy S22 launch, Android Headlines reported that four wallpapers associated with the upcoming phones were available. The report treated them as an early selection, not necessarily the complete collection. A fifth image was added in an update. After that, a separate report described a larger pack attributed to material shared by XDA Developers, with developer linuxct helping prepare the files.
The Galaxy S22 series launched in February 2022, making this a historical prelaunch leak rather than a new release. Samsung’s Galaxy S22 Mobile Press page hosts official product media, but that does not establish that Samsung published this wallpaper pack as an official standalone download.
What was in the wallpaper sets?

The first four designs were described as colorful splash-like compositions in yellow, red, and green, including lighter backgrounds matched to the dominant splash and a darker, multicolor design on black. The original article’s gallery previews were compressed; it directed readers to a separate download for the original-size images. The expanded-set coverage also distinguished preview images from its full-resolution download pack. Saving a preview or a screenshot can produce a noticeably softer result than using the original file.

Choose the right file and download cautiously
- Static wallpaper: An image file you can select in your phone’s wallpaper picker. You do not need a special app just to use a static image.
- Live wallpaper: The expanded pack included animated options. Contemporary coverage said the video files could be applied using a third-party utility called Video to Wallpaper. That does not make the utility a Samsung component, and its current availability or compatibility is not established here.
- DeX wallpaper: Desktop-style backgrounds intended for Samsung DeX, not a special phone lock-screen feature. DeX-specific behavior is not available on every Android device.
The original reports date from 2021 and 2022, so a linked file host may no longer work. Prefer a reputable source and the original-resolution file. Avoid suspicious download pop-ups, do not install an APK simply to get a static image, and check a downloaded file’s extension before opening it.
Set a static wallpaper on a Samsung phone
On current Samsung software, use the Gallery option to select the downloaded image. Samsung says screens and labels can vary by model, carrier, and software version.

- Download the original image file to the phone.
- Touch and hold an empty area of the Home screen, then tap Wallpaper and style.
- Tap Change wallpapers, then Gallery.
- Select the image and choose Home screen, Lock screen, or both.
- Reposition, crop, or zoom the image in the preview, then tap Done.
You can also start from the Lock screen: touch and hold it, authenticate if prompted, tap Wallpapers, choose Gallery, select the image, adjust it, and tap Done. For a non-Samsung Android phone, use its Gallery or wallpaper settings; the menu names and steps differ.
Use a live wallpaper only if you want motion
For the leaked live files, the historical instructions used the third-party Video to Wallpaper app. Live wallpaper setup varies by Android version, manufacturer, and app, so the exact picker controls may differ. If you use a third-party app, verify its developer, recent update status, reviews, and requested permissions; grant only what is needed to select the media or set the wallpaper.

- Download the live-wallpaper video files from a source you trust.
- Install a compatible live-wallpaper picker only if your phone cannot use the file directly.
- Select the video through the app or Android wallpaper chooser and follow its prompts to apply it.
- Check that the video loops as expected and watch for battery use, storage demands, or unwanted ads.
If the video does not appear, the file may be an ordinary video rather than a native live-wallpaper package, the app may not support your Android version, or the phone’s software may restrict the picker. Use a static version if setup fails or you prefer lower battery use.
Static or live: which should you use?

Other Samsung wallpaper options
The leaked files are media you download; Samsung’s built-in wallpaper and theme features are separate. Samsung’s Galaxy Themes instructions cover browsing and downloading wallpapers and themes, including free and paid items. Availability and menus vary by device, software version, and carrier.

Fix common wallpaper problems
- The image looks blurry: Use the original download rather than a compressed article preview or screenshot. Avoid sharing or saving it through services that may reduce image quality.
- The composition is cropped badly: Adjust position and zoom in the wallpaper preview before applying it rather than pre-cropping the file aggressively.
- The download link is unavailable: These are old third-party reports, and file hosts can disappear. Do not treat an unfamiliar mirror as trustworthy simply because it claims to host the pack.
- The live video will not apply: Check the file type and app compatibility, then try a static image if the picker cannot handle it.
