This is a comparison across generations, not two contemporaries. 91mobiles lists the Galaxy S20 FE 5G release date as 31 March 2021 and the vivo X300 FE as 14 May 2026; those dates are attributed to the comparison listing, not manufacturer launch records.

Choose the vivo X300 FE for newer listed hardware and internal storage
The published specs favor the vivo for processor generation, available RAM and storage tiers, stated battery capacity, and wired charging rate. Its body is shorter, narrower and thinner on the listed dimensions, although its listed weight is one gram more. These are specification differences, not independent performance or endurance test results.

The Galaxy S20 FE 5G still has two clear advantages
Its stated 6.5-inch display is larger, and its cited 128 GB variant supports microSD cards up to 1 TB. If you keep a large photo, video or offline-media library on removable storage, that may matter more than the vivo’s higher built-in storage options. The precise Samsung configuration cited here is the Colombia 6 GB/128 GB SKU, so other regional versions may differ.
Do not pick a camera winner from megapixels alone
The hardware differs: Samsung lists an optical 3× telephoto camera, while vivo lists a 50 MP telephoto with OIS alongside a stabilized 50 MP main camera. The listed resolutions do not establish which phone takes better photos or video. Look for matched, current camera samples and reviews for the exact regional models before treating image quality as a deciding factor.
For users considering extra reach, vivo says its ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 is compatible with the X300 FE and must be purchased separately. Check vivo’s India product page for the compatibility statement; the accessory is not listed as included.
What is the price difference?
The cited prices do not support a fair one-number comparison. They involve different countries, sources, configurations and stock situations. The vivo India Store displayed ₹89,999 for the 12 GB/256 GB model, against a displayed MRP of ₹119,999; that observed store price may be promotional. vivo Philippines stated ₱54,999. In an October 2026 page snapshot, 91mobiles showed ₹26,799 for the Galaxy S20 FE 5G but marked it “Out of Stock,” and showed ₹94,999 for the vivo X300 FE with an Amazon tag. The latter is a third-party listing snapshot and does not match the vivo India Store figure.

For a useful current price difference, compare phones sold in the same country, from current sellers, at the same storage tier where possible. Also check whether each unit is new, refurbished or used, whether local warranty applies, and whether the exact model supports your carrier. The Samsung figure above is not evidence of an available in-stock offer.

The X300 FE is the more compelling upgrade on paper if you want newer listed hardware, more built-in storage, a higher stated battery capacity, faster wired charging, or a smaller body with a dedicated telephoto camera. Keep the S20 FE 5G if its larger screen and microSD slot still suit you and a replacement would cost more than the benefits are worth.
Before buying, verify the seller’s stock, the exact RAM/storage configuration, local price and warranty, software-support commitments, and carrier-band compatibility. The cited pages do not confirm a software-support end date for the Samsung, and specifications alone cannot establish real-world battery life, performance, or camera quality. Treat the water-resistance ratings as test-based specifications, not permission to intentionally expose either phone to water.
