The Samsung Galaxy F17 5G and vivo X300 FE sit in very different price tiers in India. Their launch prices ranged from ₹13,999 to ₹16,999 for the F17 and from ₹79,999 to ₹89,999 for the X300 FE. The vivo offers a smaller, higher-refresh display, a more advanced camera setup on paper and faster charging; the Samsung costs far less and has a clearly stated long software-support commitment. They are not like-for-like alternatives, so choose by budget and priorities rather than treating the specification sheet as a direct performance verdict.

What is the price difference in India?
Samsung announced the Galaxy F17 5G at ₹13,999 (4GB/128GB), ₹15,499 (6GB/128GB) and ₹16,999 (8GB/128GB) in 2025. vivo’s May 2026 launch announcement set the X300 FE at ₹79,999 for 12GB/256GB and ₹89,999 for 12GB/512GB. Comparing the F17’s three launch tiers with the X300 FE 12GB/256GB launch price gives a difference of ₹63,000–₹66,000; against the 12GB/512GB price, the gap is ₹73,000–₹76,000.
These are historical launch prices for phones with very different configurations and market positioning, not current street-price quotes. There is also a discrepancy between vivo’s launch announcement and its official e-store page: the store page accessed for this comparison displayed ₹89,999 for a 12GB/256GB selection, alongside a ₹119,999 MRP. Samsung’s official product page showed “Not for sale” when checked. Which display and size suit you?
The F17’s 6.91-inch-class panel is substantially larger by diagonal than the X300 FE’s 6.31-inch display. That gives the Samsung a clearer on-paper fit for someone who values a broad viewing area, while vivo explicitly positions the X300 FE as a compact premium phone. The vivo display has the higher listed refresh rate—120Hz versus Samsung’s maximum 90Hz—and a stated resolution of 2640 × 1216. Refresh rate and resolution are specifications, not guarantees of a particular viewing experience.
How do the cameras differ?
The F17 has a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), alongside 5MP and 2MP rear cameras. The X300 FE lists OIS on both its 50MP main and 50MP telephoto cameras, plus an 8MP wide camera. A dedicated telephoto module gives the vivo a distinct zoom-oriented hardware option; the listed megapixel counts and stabilization do not prove which phone takes better photos or video.

vivo says its ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 is compatible with the X300 FE and sold separately. vivo Newsroom India listed its launch price as ₹15,999 in 2026. Processor and speed
Samsung lists the Exynos 1330; vivo lists the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. Those are manufacturer specifications, not comparable independent benchmark results. If demanding games or sustained workloads are decisive, seek same-method testing of the exact India-market phones rather than relying on chipset names alone.

Battery and charging
The X300 FE has the larger stated battery capacity and higher wired-charging rating: 6,500mAh typical (6,350mAh rated) and 90W, against the F17’s 5,000mAh and 25W. Capacity and charging ratings do not establish how long either phone lasts or how quickly it charges in a particular use pattern.
Water and dust ratings
The listed protection ratings are IP54 for the F17 and IP68/IP69 for the X300 FE. An IP rating is not a promise that a phone will survive every exposure, and these specifications alone do not establish durability in specific conditions.

Which phone should you buy?
- Choose the Galaxy F17 5G if its much lower launch-price tier, larger display or documented update commitment matters most. Samsung announced six Android-version upgrades and six years of security updates, with its product page listing security updates through 30 September 2031.
- Consider the vivo X300 FE if you want a compact premium handset with a 120Hz display, dedicated OIS telephoto camera, higher stated charging rate and IP68/IP69 ratings—and its substantially higher price fits your budget.
- For long-term software-policy comparison, Samsung’s sources state a specific duration; the reviewed vivo India sources identify Android 16/OriginOS 6 but do not establish an equivalent duration. That is a difference in what these sources document, not proof that vivo has no update policy.
- If the decision depends on real-world camera quality, speed or endurance, compare independent tests of the exact variants. The published hardware specifications cannot settle those outcomes.
