The Galaxy A57 5G is the better fit if you want Samsung’s higher-tier processor, a higher-resolution ultrawide camera, and a thinner, lighter build. The Galaxy A37 5G makes more sense if it costs meaningfully less where you live and you mainly want the shared essentials: a 6.7-inch 120Hz display, 50MP main camera, 5,000mAh battery, 45W wired charging, IP68 rating, and Samsung’s stated long software support.
The key differences are real, but their practical impact is not established by controlled head-to-head tests. Here’s what the specifications do—and do not—tell you.

What changes on the A57—and whether it matters
Processor and configurations
Samsung Ireland lists the A57 with an Exynos 1680 and the A37 with an Exynos 1480. That makes the A57 the higher-tier option on paper, but processor names alone do not establish how much faster it feels in everyday use, gaming, or demanding apps. The available official specifications do not provide a controlled performance comparison.

The Ireland listing also gives the A57 higher maximum RAM and storage options. Those top configurations may matter if you keep many apps active or store a large amount of media on the phone, but confirm local availability and the price of the specific configuration you want.
Ultrawide camera
The A57’s ultrawide camera is 12MP, compared with 8MP on the A37. Both phones otherwise list a 50MP main camera, a 5MP macro camera, and a 12MP front camera. The higher ultrawide resolution is a specification advantage, not proof of better photos: resolution alone cannot show differences in detail, color, low-light performance, or processing. Samsung’s published specifications do not include a controlled image-quality comparison between the phones.

Display and design
Both phones have a 6.7-inch FHD+ display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Samsung calls the A57 panel Super AMOLED Plus and the A37 panel Super AMOLED; both share the same stated size and refresh ceiling. The Plus label does not, by itself, quantify a real-world difference in brightness, color, or viewing experience.

Samsung Ireland lists the A57 at 179g and 6.9mm thick, versus 196g and 7.4mm for the A37. On those figures, the A57 is 17g lighter and 0.5mm thinner. That can be relevant if you prefer a lighter, slimmer phone, though the difference is best judged in person if comfort is a priority.

What the phones share
Battery and charging
Samsung lists a typical 5,000mAh battery in each phone and wired charging up to 45W. The 5,000mAh figure is typical capacity; Samsung gives the rated minimum as 4,905mAh and notes that actual battery life varies. Equal stated capacity does not establish equal runtime, and the available specifications do not include a controlled endurance test. Neither model supports wireless charging.
Samsung lists a 45W Super Fast Charger 2.0 as an accessory. Check what is included with the phone in your market before buying a separate charger; box contents can vary.

Updates and water resistance
Samsung advertises up to six Android OS/One UI upgrade generations and up to six years of security updates for both models. These are maximum support commitments; check Samsung’s market-specific terms and availability for the phone you plan to buy.
Both phones are listed as IP68-rated. Samsung says that rating is based on laboratory submersion in fresh water up to 1.5 meters for up to 30 minutes. It does not mean the phone is permanently water-resistant, and Samsung says resistance may diminish with normal wear. The rating is not a recommendation for beach or pool use.

Choose the Galaxy A57 5G if
- You want the higher-tier processor listed by Samsung Ireland, while understanding that no direct benchmark result is established here.
- You value a 12MP ultrawide camera over the A37’s 8MP unit, without treating megapixels as a guarantee of better photos.
- You want the thinner, lighter body or the higher RAM and storage configurations available in your market.
- The A57’s local price premium is acceptable for those specific upgrades.
Choose the Galaxy A37 5G if
- It is meaningfully cheaper where you live and you do not need the A57’s particular upgrades.
- Your priorities are the shared core specifications: a large 120Hz display, 50MP main camera, 5,000mAh typical battery, 45W wired charging, IP68 rating, and the stated update commitment.
- The A37 configuration available locally provides enough memory and storage for how you use your phone.
Samsung announced both phones on March 25, 2026, and said availability in select markets would begin April 10, 2026. Those dates do not establish availability everywhere. Samsung also cautions that model lineups vary by country, and its official pages do not establish a single current global price. Compare the price of equivalent local configurations before deciding whether the A57’s upgrades justify the difference.
