How do their screens and processors compare?
Display
Both phones have a 6.7-inch display. Samsung identifies the A57 panel as Super AMOLED+; the India M47 listing specifies an FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. Those descriptions do not establish that every panel characteristic is identical, or that one is brighter or better calibrated. Samsung’s cited A57 specification does not state a refresh-rate figure in the supplied product details.
Processor
The A57 uses Samsung’s Exynos 1680, while the M47 uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. The chip names alone do not show which phone is faster in everyday use, gaming or sustained workloads; there is no comparable benchmark evidence here. Choose based on measured reviews for your preferred apps if performance is decisive, rather than assuming a winner from the processor names.

Which phone has the more useful camera setup?
The A57’s listed rear array consists of a 50 MP main camera, 12 MP ultrawide and 5 MP macro. The M47 is listed with 50 MP, 5 MP and 2 MP rear cameras. Samsung’s cited M47 listing does not identify the roles of the 5 MP and 2 MP cameras, so they should not be treated as direct equivalents to the A57’s named ultrawide and macro cameras.
Both list a 12 MP front camera. Megapixel counts and lens labels do not establish image quality, low-light performance or stabilization; this comparison has no independent camera test data. If an ultrawide view is important, the A57’s explicitly listed 12 MP ultrawide is the clearer hardware match in the published specifications.

Does the M47’s larger battery mean longer battery life?
The M47 has a 6,000 mAh typical battery, with Samsung also listing a 5,882 mAh rated minimum; the A57 is specified at 5,000 mAh. This establishes a capacity difference, not how many hours either phone will last. Samsung cautions that actual M47 battery life varies with network environment, usage patterns and other factors, and no comparable endurance tests are available here.

Both list 45 W wired charging. Samsung says the M47’s fast charger is sold separately, so account for that when comparing the complete purchase cost. Charger-in-box details for the A57 are not established by the cited facts.

How long will Samsung support each phone?
Samsung states up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades and up to six years of security updates for the A57. For the M47, Samsung India states six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates from the first global launch date. These are Samsung’s stated support policies, not guarantees of particular update release dates, and policies may be subject to change.
What is the price difference?
A valid price difference requires prices for the same country, date, storage configuration and seller basis, with promotions treated consistently. The available A57 figure is Samsung Newsroom US’s $549.99 starting US launch price; Samsung said US availability would begin April 9, 2026. It is not a current universal price. Samsung India lists the M47 in 6 GB/128 GB, 8 GB/128 GB and 8 GB/256 GB configurations, but the cited product pages do not establish a dependable current price that can be paired with that US A57 launch price. India and US prices should not be converted into a claimed gap. Check current official or reputable local listings for the exact variants before deciding; the cited M47 pages are for 8 GB/128 GB and 8 GB/256 GB.

Choose the M47 if
- You want the higher stated battery capacity and accept that capacity does not prove longer tested runtime.
- You are buying in India and find a suitable M47 configuration at a competitive local price.
- You want the published up-to-120 Hz display specification.
Choose the A57 if
- You want a specifically documented 12 MP ultrawide rear camera alongside the main and macro cameras.
- You are buying in the US and can compare its actual current local price with available alternatives, rather than relying on its launch price.
- You value the listed lighter, thinner body: Samsung specifies 179 g and 6.9 mm for the A57, compared with 206 g and 8.1 mm on the M47 8 GB/256 GB listing.
Before buying either model, verify the exact storage/RAM variant, warranty, local 5G-band compatibility and final checkout price. Samsung notes that network bands and availability can vary by region.

Model and launch details
Samsung announced the A57 on March 25, 2026, and announced US availability from April 9, 2026. Samsung India’s M47 product page shows a June 29, 2026 launch date. The M47 listing is India-specific; neither phone’s specifications or availability should be assumed to apply identically in every country.
