The Redmi Turbo 5’s published India specifications favor battery capacity, wired charging, and screen resolution; the Galaxy A56 5G offers a larger display, a dedicated macro camera, and a stated six-year security-update commitment. Which is the better buy depends on local availability, current prices, and whether those trade-offs matter more to you than the spec sheet.

Galaxy A56 vs Redmi Turbo 5: specifications at a glance

The comparison below uses Samsung’s published Galaxy A56 5G specifications and Xiaomi India’s Redmi Turbo 5 specifications. Manufacturer figures describe listed features, not independent test results. Regional versions and availability may differ.

Redmi Turbo 5: higher listed resolution

Xiaomi lists a 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. Its India product information and FAQ advertise peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits. That is a manufacturer-stated peak-brightness figure, not an independent measurement, and it should not be treated as a guarantee of typical brightness in every setting.

On the published specifications, choose the A56 if you want the larger diagonal; choose the Turbo 5 if the higher listed resolution is more important. The available figures alone do not establish which screen looks better in person.

Performance: what the processor figures do and do not tell you

Samsung lists the A56’s octa-core CPU speeds as 2.9 GHz, 2.6 GHz, and 1.9 GHz. Xiaomi lists the Turbo 5’s MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra with speeds up to 3.4 GHz. Clock speeds from different processors are not a like-for-like performance test, so they do not establish which phone is faster in games or everyday use.

Xiaomi India also advertises an “Antutu 2.3Mn+” result for the Turbo 5. This is Xiaomi’s own claim; the cited product information does not establish it as an independent comparative benchmark or provide a matching Galaxy A56 result.

Camera hardware: compare the lenses, not just megapixels

The A56 lists three rear cameras: a 50 MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 12 MP ultrawide, and a 5 MP macro. The Turbo 5 lists a 50 MP Sony IMX882 main camera with OIS and an 8 MP ultrawide. For selfies, Samsung lists a 12 MP front camera and Xiaomi lists a 20 MP one.

The A56 is the only one of these listed setups with a dedicated macro camera. Both have OIS on the main camera, according to their manufacturers. Megapixel counts and lens lists do not establish real-world image quality; the specifications provided do not include an independent camera comparison.

Battery and charging: the Turbo 5 has the larger published figures

Samsung gives the A56 a 5,000 mAh typical battery capacity. Xiaomi lists 7,540 mAh for the Turbo 5, along with 100 W wired charging and 27 W wired reverse charging. These are manufacturer-published specifications. They do not, by themselves, predict how long either phone lasts for a particular user or how quickly it charges in every situation.

Durability and software support

Water and dust ratings

Samsung lists IP67 water and dust resistance for the A56. Xiaomi India lists IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for the Turbo 5. These ratings describe tested resistance under specified conditions; they do not make either phone immune to damage. Xiaomi’s cited ratings are for its India product listing, so check the exact regional model before relying on them.

Update commitments

Samsung’s 2025 announcement states that the A56 is eligible for up to six generations of Android OS/One UI upgrades and six years of security updates. Xiaomi India lists HyperOS 3 for the Turbo 5, but the cited product information does not establish a matching update-duration promise. A software version listing is not a substitute for a stated support period.

Price difference: compare current offers in the same market

The available price figures come from different regions and dates, so they cannot show a meaningful current price difference between the phones. Samsung’s U.S. availability update dated July 18, 2025 gave the A56 a starting price of $499.99 and listed 128 GB and 256 GB storage options. Samsung India’s 2025 announcement listed these launch prices before the described storage-upgrade offer:

  • INR 41,999 for 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage
  • INR 44,999 for 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage
  • INR 47,999 for 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage

Xiaomi’s official China storefront search result showed a starting price of RMB 2,299 for the Redmi Turbo 5; the year of that listing is not established. It is not a verified current price and is not an India or U.S. price. None of these figures should be converted or compared as though they were current, same-market offers.

For a useful comparison, check local retailers for both models on the same day, then match RAM and storage configurations. The cited material does not establish a current, same-market price for both phones.

Which phone should you choose?

  • Choose the Galaxy A56 5G if the larger listed screen, dedicated macro camera, or Samsung’s published OS and security-update commitment best fits your priorities.
  • Choose the Redmi Turbo 5 if its India-listed larger battery capacity, faster wired charging, higher display resolution, or additional listed water and dust ratings matter more to you—and the exact regional model is available at a suitable local price.
  • Pause before deciding on price alone: the available Samsung and Xiaomi prices refer to different markets and circumstances, not a current matched comparison.

There is no universal winner in these published specifications. The clearest choice is between Samsung’s stated software-support duration and camera configuration, and Xiaomi India’s much larger listed battery and faster charging. Make the final call using the version sold in your market and its current price.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
