These are manufacturer-listed specifications, not independent measurements. Samsung’s UK Galaxy A55 page and India Galaxy M47 page describe different regional variants, so the table is not a guarantee that the same configurations or network compatibility apply in every country.

How much does the Galaxy M47 cost, and what is the price difference?
A current, trustworthy price difference between the two phones cannot be stated from the available listings. Samsung India’s M47 page currently displays “Not for sale.” Cinco Días reported an India launch price of ₹22,999 on 29 June 2026; that is a dated launch figure, not a verified current selling price. Cinco Días’ launch report gives that context.
A secondary comparison listing displayed ₹17,999 for the A55 and ₹35,999 for the M47, but did not establish a reliable price date or equivalent configurations. Those figures should not be treated as a current price comparison. Check local retailers for the exact model, storage capacity, warranty region, and stock before deciding.

Which phone has the better display?
On the listed core specifications, neither has a clear advantage: both have an FHD+ Super AMOLED panel with a maximum 120 Hz refresh rate. Samsung gives the A55’s display size as 6.6 inches across the full rectangle, or 6.4 inches accounting for rounded corners. The M47 is listed at 16.91 cm full rectangle, or 16.45 cm with rounded corners. These measurements are effectively similar, not evidence of a meaningful size advantage for one phone.
Which has the better cameras?
Rear cameras
The A55’s listed rear setup is 50 MP + 12 MP + 5 MP, while the M47’s is 50 MP + 5 MP + 2 MP. Both official pages list optical image stabilization for the rear camera and 4K recording at up to 30 fps. The A55’s 12 MP secondary camera gives it the more promising specification mix on paper, but megapixel counts and lens listings alone do not establish image quality.

Selfie cameras
The A55 lists a 32 MP front camera and the M47 a 12 MP front camera. That makes the A55 the higher-resolution option on paper; it does not by itself prove better selfies, since processing, optics, and shooting conditions also matter.
Does the M47’s larger battery mean longer battery life?
Samsung lists a typical 6,000 mAh battery for the M47 and 5,000 mAh for the A55. The M47 therefore has the larger rated capacity, but that difference is not a measured runtime result. Samsung cautions that actual battery life depends on network conditions, usage patterns, and other factors. The published specifications do not establish how many hours either phone will last in comparable everyday use.

Which phone has longer software support?
The Samsung India M47 page states six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates from the first global launch, subject to change; it lists security updates as valid until 31 July 2032. Samsung UK lists the A55’s security-update validity through 31 March 2028. On those regional product pages, the M47 has the later stated security-validity date. The policy wording and dates are market-specific, so confirm the support terms for the exact variant sold where you live.
How do performance and storage compare?
Samsung identifies the M47 processor as Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, with octa-core clock speeds of 2.4 GHz and 1.8 GHz. Its page also notes that LPDDR5X memory used with that processor can achieve up to LPDDR5 performance levels. For the A55, Samsung lists an octa-core processor at 2.75 GHz and 2 GHz; its support text identifies Exynos 1480. Clock speeds and memory labels are not a benchmark comparison, and no comparable independent performance results are established here. Do not choose between them based on those figures alone.

The cited pages show different storage configurations: 256GB for the UK A55 page and 8GB/128GB for the India M47 page. Both list microSD support up to 1 TB in those versions. Compare the exact local configuration and whether it meets your storage needs; the page variants do not show that every market offers the same RAM or storage choices.
Which should you choose?
- Consider the M47 if its local version is available at a price you can verify, and its larger listed battery capacity or later stated security-update date matters most to you.
- Consider the A55 if its camera specifications are more appealing, particularly the 12 MP secondary rear camera, 32 MP selfie camera, or listed stereo support.
- Compare locally before buying if price, network compatibility, or a particular RAM/storage configuration is decisive. The cited official pages cover India and the UK rather than a matched pair of variants.
Neither phone can be named the overall winner from specifications alone: current comparable prices and independent, like-for-like tests of cameras, performance, and battery endurance are not established.
