Yes. Samsung began the stable Android 15-based One UI 7.0 rollout for the Galaxy A35 5G in India in May 2025. The Indian firmware reported for that rollout was A356EXXU4BYDC, approximately 3.58 GB, with the April 2025 security patch. This was not a beta release. However, One UI 7 is now an earlier major version: as of August 18, 2026, Samsung India’s update information has moved on to One UI 8 and Android 16.
Rollout status in India
The Indian Galaxy A35 5G received Android 15 and One UI 7 as a stable software upgrade. Coverage published on May 22, 2025, reported that Samsung’s rollout was already under way; that date should not be interpreted as a guarantee that every handset received the OTA on the same day.

These details come from contemporaneous Indian rollout coverage by SamMobile. The download size can differ depending on the phone’s existing software and Samsung’s delivery package, and the April 2025 patch is historical rather than the current 2026 security level.
How to check for and install the update
- Open Settings.
- Tap Software update.
- Select Download and install.
- Wait while the phone checks Samsung’s servers.
- Review the displayed Android version, One UI version and security-patch information, then start the download if it is offered.
Samsung documents this route in its Galaxy software-update instructions. Menu wording can vary slightly with the installed One UI version.
Prepare the phone first
- Back up important photos, messages and files.
- Use a reliable Wi-Fi connection.
- Charge the phone or leave it connected to a charger.
- Keep several gigabytes of free internal storage; the reported package alone was about 3.58 GB.
- Do not power off the phone during installation.
The first restart can take longer than usual while Android optimizes apps. Afterward, verify the result through Settings → About phone → Software information, checking Android version, One UI version, build number and Android security update level.

What One UI 7 changes on the A35
Android 15 supplies platform-level changes, while One UI 7 updates Samsung’s interface and system applications. Depending on the installed build, users may notice refreshed notification and quick-panel layouts, redesigned visual elements and animations, expanded home- and lock-screen customization, and changes to permissions, privacy, battery controls and multitasking.
Samsung’s flagship One UI 7 coverage should not be treated as a complete Galaxy A35 feature list. Availability can vary by hardware, processor, camera capabilities, region, app version and Samsung service. Advanced Galaxy AI, camera-generation tools, lock-screen effects and high-end multitasking features may be absent or limited on the A35. The safest way to identify what your handset received is to read the changelog shown on the update screen and inspect the relevant Samsung app after installation.
Why One UI 7 may not appear
A missing update does not automatically mean the phone is faulty. Samsung distributes firmware in stages, and availability can vary by country, carrier, CSC and device batch. Samsung also says it may pause an update after release if an emergency issue requires a fix: Samsung India’s One UI update information.

- Different model: Confirm the model under Settings → About phone. The Indian report is for SM-A356E/DS.
- Imported handset: A phone bought in another country can follow that market’s firmware schedule.
- Already on a later branch: The phone may have installed a newer Android 15 or Android 16 release, so One UI 7 will not appear as a separate pending update.
- Storage, battery or network issue: Insufficient space, low charge or an unreliable connection can block downloading or installation.
- Temporary server pause: Samsung can stop distribution while correcting an urgent problem.
Practical troubleshooting order
- Restart the phone.
- Connect to dependable Wi-Fi and charge it.
- Free several gigabytes of internal storage.
- Return to Settings → Software update → Download and install.
- Check the exact model number and current build in About phone → Software information.
- If the device remains far behind its expected software branch, contact Samsung Members or Samsung India support.
Changing the region, swapping SIM cards, using a VPN or altering the CSC is not an officially supported way to force an update and can create additional firmware or warranty complications.
Should you manually flash the Indian firmware?
For ordinary owners, the official OTA is the safest option. A firmware package must match the precise model and regional configuration; an Indian SM-A356E package is not automatically suitable for every Galaxy A35 sold worldwide.

One UI 7 answers the historical question—whether the Indian Galaxy A35 received Android 15—and the answer is yes. It is not the phone’s newest major software generation in August 2026. The update confirms that the A35 moved beyond its Android 14 launch software and entered Samsung’s Android 15 support cycle. It does not mean every Samsung feature arrives on the phone, nor that security patches are synchronized across all markets and carriers. Battery behavior, app compatibility, notification permissions and Samsung-app layouts can change after a major upgrade.

Temporary extra battery activity during the first days can result from indexing and app optimization. Persistent drain, repeated crashes or problems with banking, authentication, Bluetooth, camera or Android Auto apps should be investigated by updating those apps, restarting the phone and contacting Samsung support if the issue continues.
