Yes—the Samsung Galaxy A23 5G has NFC in the regional versions documented by Samsung. Samsung’s US specification sheet and Philippines product specifications list NFC, and Samsung Indonesia confirms it on the 5G model. Because Samsung says supported models can vary slightly across markets, check the full model number and local specifications if you’re confirming a particular phone.
What Samsung’s specifications confirm
Samsung’s US Galaxy A23 5G specification sheet and its Philippines product listing both state “NFC: Yes.” Samsung Indonesia also says the Galaxy A23 5G is equipped with NFC. These official confirmations answer the question for those documented configurations; they do not establish that every regional SKU has identical connectivity.

How to check your exact Galaxy A23 5G
- Search the phone’s Settings for “NFC.” If an NFC setting appears, check whether it can be enabled. Menu labels and layouts may differ, so searching is more reliable than assuming a particular path.
- Find the full model number. Use the device information in Settings or the phone’s packaging, then compare that number with Samsung’s specifications or support information for your country.
- Verify the country-specific product listing. Look for NFC in the connectivity specifications for that exact model, rather than relying only on a general Galaxy A23 5G description.
Samsung maintains separate software update pages for particular model numbers, such as SM-A236E. An update page can help identify a device variant, but its software-version information does not establish whether another regional version includes NFC.
What NFC does—and what it does not guarantee
NFC is the short-range wireless feature used for compatible contactless interactions, including tap-to-pay. Samsung’s US specification sheet lists Samsung Pay for its documented Galaxy A23 5G configuration, and Samsung Developer includes the Galaxy A23 among Samsung Pay-capable models. Samsung Spain described Samsung Wallet functionality on the A23 5G as NFC-only.

Having NFC does not by itself mean a particular payment service will work. Availability depends on the country, the device configuration, the payment service, and whether that service supports your bank or card. Samsung publishes country-specific support information and warns that supported models may vary slightly by market.

Phone names can cover configurations sold in different markets. The cited Samsung pages confirm NFC on US, Philippine, and Indonesian versions, but they do not provide a complete worldwide list of Galaxy A23 5G model numbers or prove that any particular unlisted version lacks NFC. For an individual phone, the full model number and the local Samsung specifications are the useful checks.
