G-SHOCK is staging a MUDMAN GDG-B100 launch event at Cwmorthin Slate Mine in Eryri, North Wales, on 15 October 2026. Getting to the underground rave involves a demanding route that includes abseiling, but access is through a ballot—and attendees are reported to get early access to the watch, not exclusive access to buy it.

The announcement describes the venue as 1,375 feet below ground. That is the organizer’s description of the event location, not an independently verified depth measurement or record.
What the mine route involves
Casio describes a journey through dark tunnels, waterlogged passages and underground ravines, with zip lines and abseiling down rock faces before participants reach the event chamber. This is more than an ordinary product launch venue: the route is part of the advertised experience.

The announcement does not specify entrant age, fitness requirements or required equipment. Check the ballot terms and operator guidance before entering; the event description alone is not enough to determine whether the route is suitable for you or what to bring.
What happens at the rave
Casio says musician Roni Size will perform a one-off set. The event’s sound experiment is intended to feed elements of the music into the slate, capture vibrations traveling through the environment and return them to the performance. WatchPro quoted Size describing the idea as “pumping a set into the mountain” and bringing the sound back into the mix. The performance is also described as a G-SHOCK Radio broadcast; later availability through Mixcloud has been reported, but the announcement does not provide a confirmed schedule for listening.

Which MUDMAN is launching?
The watch is the G-SHOCK MUDMAN GDG-B100. Casio lists three model numbers: GDG-B100-1, GDG-B100-1A5 and GDG-B100-1A3. The official announcement describes a high-contrast MIP LCD, a red LED backlight, step tracking, Smartphone Link, stopwatch and training functions, and shock, dust and mud resistance.
T3 reports 20-bar water resistance, dimensions of 63.6 × 49.6 × 16.2 mm, weight of 66 g, and an approximate two-year battery life from a replaceable CR2032 cell. Those are reported specifications, not results from hands-on testing here. The official event page does not state a price; T3 reports £200, which should be treated as that publication’s price report rather than an official confirmed price.

Does the launch mean the mine is the only way to buy it?
No such restriction is established. WatchPro reports that event attendees will get first access to the watch ahead of wider release. That makes the ballot an opportunity for early access, but neither the Casio announcement nor the independent coverage establishes that attending the mine is the only way to buy a GDG-B100.
The reviewed official page does not establish a wider release date or regional stock availability. Check Casio’s product listing for current purchase information in your region rather than assuming the event date is the retail launch date.
