The Khazalite Holds Battletome brings a selected set of Fyreslayers units into the wider Khazalite Holds faction. You can still field an all-Fyreslayers army, or mix Fyreslayers with the new Kromdron. The main change is that Vulkite Berzerkers and several other older units and faction items move out of the Battletome and into Warhammer Legends. Ormyr and Ashtongue are the new Fyreslayers pair in the book.
Which Fyreslayers units stay in the Battletome
Warhammer Community’s 2026 coverage of the Khazalite Holds Battletome lists twelve Fyreslayers unit entries as part of the new book:

What moves to Warhammer Legends
Seven entries leave the Battletome roster and move to Warhammer Legends:

Warhammer Community calls the Vulkite Berzerkers the most impactful departure, because they were a mainstay of several armies. With them gone, the coverage describes the Fyreslayers as a more elite force built around Hearthguard and Flameseekers as infantry, supported by Magmadroths and characters.
How long departing units stay competitive
The coverage says departing units remain usable in competitive events for one year after the new Battletome releases, and only then move to Legends. That window is tied to the book’s release date, which the coverage does not give, so it cannot yet be turned into a calendar date. The same coverage says the departing units will soon come off sale. Retailer stock can run out before the window closes, so check stock if you plan to buy one of these models.
Can you still play an all-Fyreslayers army?
Yes. Warhammer Community states: “if you just love Fyreslayers and want to continue playing with an army composed entirely of Grimnir’s fanatical followers, you absolutely can, either by just selecting Fyreslayers units in your army or by choosing the Fyrd of Fyrepeak Army of Renown.” No individual author is named, so this is attributed to the publisher.

There are two routes to an all-Fyreslayers force:
- Select Fyreslayers units directly from the Battletome roster.
- Take the Fyrd of Fyrepeak Army of Renown, a pre-set formation.
Mixing Fyreslayers with Kromdron
The real decision is between an all-Fyreslayers list and a mixed Khazalite Holds list. The publisher supports both. The table below sets out the options as the coverage describes them. The coverage does not list the Kromdron units or their rules, so those cells are marked accordingly.

When comparing these options, consider three things: how wide a roster you want, whether you want Kromdron’s guns, artillery and defences, and whether you need any of the Legends-bound units. The coverage does not include warscrolls, points values or tournament results, so it cannot tell you which option performs better on the table. Choose based on the models and playstyle you prefer.
Existing miniatures and the new models
Your current Fyreslayers miniatures
Warhammer Community’s preview states: “This means that you’ll be able to use your existing miniatures with the new battletome, whether you want to run a full Fyreslayers army, or want to include some alongside the new Kromdron.” The publisher’s wording applies to both the all-Fyreslayers and mixed options.

Magmic Fyrd Spearhead
The preview describes a Fyreslayer-themed Magmic Fyrd Spearhead. It contains a Magmadroth ridden by a Runefather, a Runesmiter, nine Vulkyn Flameseekers and five Auric Hearthguard.
Regiment of Renown
The preview also describes a separate Regiment of Renown containing an Auric Flamekeeper, a Grimhold Exile and five Hearthguard Berzerkers. According to the coverage, it can be used by any Order army.

Ormyr and Ashtongue
Ormyr is described as a wandering beastmaster, accompanied by his kyndledroth Ashtongue. He is one of the two new Fyreslayers entries in the book.

Warhammer Community describes the Khazalite Holds as a new duardin faction. In the preview, Fyreslayers are also called Grimmdron, and they are presented as a force that has suffered attrition and seeks vengeance. The coverage’s setting article, dated 9 October 2026, describes karaks built into mountains, with upper halls and underground deeps. It also describes resonance chambers, where Khazalites believe they can hear stone, halls devoted to remembering the Ancestor Gods, and a great forge at the heart of each hold. These details describe the setting, not game rules.
The same setting article names two Black Library titles, Grombrindal: Ancestor’s Burden and Gotrek and Maleneth: The Omnibus, which it says are available as ebooks through the Black Library app.
Release timing and what to check before buying
As of 9 October 2026, Warhammer Community says the Fyreslayers range will be available for preorder “very soon” and that the Battletome comes separately at a later date. The coverage does not give an exact preorder date, a general release date, prices or retail availability. The preview also says the Army Set includes the Battletome.
