What is FX Senshi Kurumi-chan about?
The official anime website introduces Fukuga Kurumi as a university student making her long-awaited debut in FX—foreign-exchange margin trading—to try to recover the 20 million yen her late mother lost. That amount is a fictional element of Kurumi’s backstory, not a real-world statistic about trading losses. The site’s Japanese introduction puts her motive this way: 「その理由は、亡き母がFXで溶かした2000万円を取り戻すため。」

The official description also names unrealized losses and forced liquidation (ロスカット) as dangers, and portrays the market as a place where fortunes and feelings can swing from heaven to hell in an instant. The hook is the dissonance: cute character designs meet a story whose own marketing emphasizes risk, loss and volatile emotions. That contrast makes the premise immediately legible without making FX sound glamorous or safe. The official description positions the series as a dangerous money game, not a success story or an invitation to copy Kurumi’s choices.

FX terminology is part of the setup, but the official site’s credit for an FX supervisor does not establish the anime as a practical course. Treat it as fiction about people confronting the consequences of trading, not as financial education or regulated advice.
Is the anime based on a manga?
Yes. Demunyan is credited with the original work and Daisuki Tansan with the art; the official site identifies Comic Flapper as the manga’s serialization venue. The anime is directed by Yuki Ogawa, with Kenta Ihara handling series composition and script, and Passione producing the animation. FXVTuber Rion is credited as FX supervisor.
