Those examples show growing visibility—not a proven nationwide surge in frozen-food sales, or a guarantee that a product is in stock at your local store.
Where can you buy frozen Korean street food?
Availability depends on the product and location. The clearest reported grocery examples are from 2024 and 2025, so use them as leads rather than confirmation of current inventory.

- Frozen tteokbokki: CJ CheilJedang said Bibigo frozen tteokbokki began selling at Kroger on June 11, 2025. The announcement documents a launch, not October 2026 stock at every Kroger.
- Shelf-stable tteokbokki: CJ said it had introduced Bibigo shelf-stable tteokbokki at U.S. Costco at the end of 2024. That is a different format from the frozen product.
- Korean corn dogs: A May 2024 IFT feature reported several frozen brands at H Mart, including versions with mozzarella and fish sausage. Axios reported Korean corn-dog availability at Costco in July 2025. Neither report establishes current or nationwide availability.
Before making a trip, check the retailer’s product pages or contact the local store. Stock can vary by location and change after a launch or news report.
What is tteokbokki, and which format should you choose?
Tteokbokki is a Korean dish built around chewy rice cakes, commonly served in a sauce. For grocery shoppers, the practical distinction is the format: the cited Bibigo products include a frozen pan-cooked option and cup products, while CJ also reported a shelf-stable version at Costco.

| Format | What the cited source says | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Frozen Bibigo tteokbokki | CJ said it launched at Kroger on June 11, 2025. The company says the rice cakes do not need washing or a water adjustment and are cooked in a frying pan. | A pan-cooked preparation, according to CJ. Follow the directions on the package you buy. |
| Bibigo cup tteokbokki | CJ lists Sweet & Spicy, Hot & Spicy, and Cheese flavors, describing bite-sized rice cakes with sauce in a cup. | A convenient cup format; check the package for preparation instructions. |
| Bibigo shelf-stable tteokbokki | CJ said it introduced this format at U.S. Costco at the end of 2024. | Not the same item as the frozen pan-cooked version. Use the package instructions for preparation. |
CJ says its frozen product has a different texture from its shelf-stable tteokbokki. That is the company’s product comparison; the available descriptions do not establish a universal texture or taste preference.
How do you cook frozen Bibigo tteokbokki?
For the specific frozen Bibigo product, CJ describes pan cooking and says the rice cakes do not need to be washed and the water amount does not need adjustment. Because package directions can vary by product and change over time, use the instructions printed on your item as the final guide. Do not assume these directions apply to cup or shelf-stable versions.

Are Korean corn dogs sold in grocery stores?
There are reported frozen grocery options, but the evidence is date- and retailer-specific. IFT reported several frozen Korean corn-dog brands at H Mart in May 2024, including fillings with mozzarella and fish sausage. Axios reported Costco availability in July 2025. Check local inventory before relying on either report.
Korean corn dogs are related to the street-food theme but are not the same dish as tteokbokki: one is a filled, battered snack, while the other centers on rice cakes. The cited grocery examples show that frozen versions have reached specialty and mainstream retail channels, not that every chain carries them.

Does the grocery growth claim mean frozen Korean food sales are booming?
The public figures support increased visibility for Korean food, but they measure different things—not total U.S. frozen-grocery sales.
- Rice-cake exports: CJ CheilJedang reported that South Korean rice-cake export value to the U.S. grew an average of 23% annually from 2020 through 2024. This is export value, not unit volume or U.S. retail sales.
- CJ tteokbokki exports: The company said its U.S. tteokbokki export sales were about four times higher in 2024 than in 2023. This is company-reported export performance.
- CJ brand sales: CJ Foods said Bibigo tteokbokki sales in the second quarter of 2024 were 2.5 times first-quarter sales; it also reported that export destinations increased from 29 to 41 countries. These are company figures, not a grocery-category sales tally.
- Restaurants: Circana reported a 10% year-over-year increase in U.S. Korean restaurant locations in 2024. It also counted 242 locations across five Korean corn-dog specialist chains, up 52% year over year. These are foodservice-location figures, not packaged-food sales.
- Restaurant openings: Circana counted 450 new Korean restaurant locations since 2018, with 36% concentrated in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York City.
These indicators help explain why Korean flavors are more visible, but they cannot be combined into a claim that frozen Korean street-food sales have surged nationwide. The documented grocery launches are concrete; the scale of the frozen retail category is not established by these figures.
