The official Aniimo Wiki lists Sea of Flowers as Thornblade’s habitat. Start there when you are searching for a wild encounter, and check the current encounter information in your game because spawn tables can change with updates. A location entry confirms the habitat, but it does not guarantee a particular encounter on every visit; route through the area again if Thornblade does not appear.

Eggs linked to Thornblade
The official index identifies three Thornblade-linked eggs: Incredible Thornblade Egg, Prismana Thornblade Egg and Shining Thornblade Egg. Egg names indicate a possible Thornblade source, not a promise that every hatch will produce the exact form or result you want. Use the in-game requirement list as the authority
The index-derived evolution entry records a Lumin-to-Gamma progression. The available references do not agree on every material count, so no fixed number should be treated as universal. Before confirming, check the exact level, item, currency and any form or location condition displayed by the game. If a requirement is greyed out, select it to see whether the game identifies a missing item, a level threshold or an unavailable progression stage.
- Open your collection and select Budsquire.
- Choose the evolution or progression option and inspect every available branch.
- Select the Thornblade preview, not the Melloblum preview.
- Record the materials and progression stage shown on that screen.
- Acquire the listed requirements, return to the same prompt and confirm the preview still names Thornblade.
- Complete the evolution, then open Thornblade’s profile to verify its number, form and skills.
If your screen offers only Melloblum, do not spend materials hoping the result will change. Check whether Budsquire is at the required progression stage, whether a form condition is missing, and whether the current patch has changed the branch. The official index and third-party databases can lag behind a balance or progression update.
How Thornblade’s combat mechanics work
Sword Dance: build stacks with skills
The Sword Dance trait grants one stack whenever Thornblade uses a skill. It can hold up to four stacks, and each stack lasts 15 seconds. A basic attack consumes one stack and deals 180% extra damage. Because the bonus is attached to the stack-consuming basic attack, repeatedly using skills without spending stacks wastes potential uptime once the four-stack cap is reached.

Thorny Defense: mitigation and a timed critical window
Thorny Defense places Thornblade in a defensive stance, reduces incoming damage by 20% and counterattacks when Thornblade is struck. If an enemy attack is hitting at the moment you activate the skill, the skill also raises critical rate by 30% for 15 seconds. The critical bonus is conditional: pressing Thorny Defense during a quiet period provides the stance, but not necessarily the attack-triggered bonus.

Thorny Impact raises critical rate by 15% for 15 seconds when it hits. Lightning Impact has the same listed critical-rate effect and is associated with the Thunderstorm form in the supporting guide. - Open with a skill. This creates the first Sword Dance stack and begins your setup.
- Continue using skills until the stack count fits the situation. You can build toward four, but avoid sitting at the cap while waiting for a target to become vulnerable.
- Cash out with basic attacks. Each basic attack consumes one stack and receives the 180% extra-damage effect.
- Rebuild immediately. Return to skills after the stack count falls so the 15-second timers do not expire unused.
- Hold Thorny Defense for a telegraphed hit. Activate it as the attack is about to land when possible; this gives you the 20% damage reduction, a counterattack and the best chance of receiving the 30% critical-rate window.
- Use critical-rate skills during an attack window. Thorny Impact’s 15-second bonus, or Lightning Impact’s corresponding bonus in Thunderstorm, is most valuable while Sword Dance-enhanced basics are available.
Against a slow boss, wait for the visible attack cue before using Thorny Defense. Against a fast group, survival may be more important than perfect timing; activate the stance early enough to cover the entire incoming sequence, then resume the skill-to-basic loop once the danger passes.
Choosing a Thornblade form
The commonly discussed forms are Basic, Prismana, Towerwood and Thunderstorm. Current element and spawn information is not completely consistent between databases, so use the Change Form menu in the live game as the final authority. - Skill access: Check whether the form includes Thorny Impact, Lightning Impact or another replacement.
- Timing difficulty: A form that adds another conditional window may outperform a simpler one only when you can execute it consistently.
- Damage output: Compare your actual skill panel and enhancements; the references do not establish a universal damage ranking for every form.
- Team coverage: Leave BREAK, healing and other support functions to teammates so Thornblade can stay on its damage cycle.
Building a team around Thornblade
Place Thornblade in the DPS slot and select companions that cover what its 53 BREAK and moderate defenses do not. A practical Grass-oriented party usually needs at least one creature dedicated to BREAK pressure and one source of support, such as healing, cleansing, protection or buffs, depending on the encounter. The exact companions are not specified by the available Thornblade references, so judge candidates by their current skill panels rather than by element alone.
When to favor a Grass-oriented setup
Use a Grass-centered arrangement when your other members can maintain the required element interactions without forcing Thornblade off its Sword Dance loop. Keep Thornblade active during the party’s damage window, and swap or pause only when a support action or mechanic demands it.
When to use Thunderstorm
Thunderstorm is described as Grass/Electric and is associated with Lightning Impact. - Confirm the required Lumin-to-Gamma progression stage shown in your own menu.
- Read the live material list instead of relying on a guide’s count.
- Check for a missing level, item or form condition before confirming anything.
“Sword Dance feels weak.”
- Make sure skills are generating stacks; basic attacks do not build them.
- Do not let four stacks sit unused until their 15-second duration expires.
- Use basic attacks to consume stacks rather than holding them indefinitely.
- Align critical-rate windows from Thorny Defense, Thorny Impact or Lightning Impact with those enhanced basics.
“Thorny Defense did not grant the critical-rate bonus.”
The 30% critical-rate increase requires Thornblade to be attacked at the moment the skill is used. If you activate it before an enemy commits to an attack, you may receive the defensive stance and counterattack without triggering that conditional bonus. Watch the enemy’s attack cue and press the skill immediately before impact.

“The form’s element does not match a website.”
Form and element listings are not fully consistent across the available databases. Open Change Form in the current game client and use that panel for team-building decisions. The Aniim.org index notes that its data is derived from the in-game index and can change with balance patches; the supporting eggs guide was checked against the released game on 2026-10-04 but says some details have not been reconfirmed since release.
