The Foschini Group (TFG) said a cyber incident at an unnamed online concession partner disrupted trading in its legacy London portfolio during the financial year ended 31 March 2026. Its published results do not say that TFG itself was hacked, that customer data was accessed, or how much the disruption cost.
What TFG disclosed
In results published on 5 June 2026, the South African retailer said its legacy TFG London portfolio faced “disruption arising from a significant cyber incident affecting a key online concession partner.” The disclosure identifies the incident as affecting the partner, but does not name that business or describe the event. That wording matters: it supports saying that TFG’s UK business experienced trading disruption linked to a partner’s cyber incident. It does not establish a cyberattack on TFG’s own systems. The results cover the year ended 31 March 2026, but do not give the incident’s date or say when the disruption began or ended.

The results do not establish that TFG was hacked or that customer information was accessed. They provide no detail on whether the partner’s systems or data were affected, either. The disclosed information does not identify the attack type, incident date, affected systems, people affected, data categories, or any regulatory response. Those details remain unknown in the published disclosure; they should not be inferred from incidents involving other UK retailers.

TFG also did not quantify the incident’s standalone financial impact. The company described a trading effect, not a separate incident-related loss figure. It is therefore not possible to calculate the incident’s cost from the information provided.
How the incident fits TFG London’s results
TFG reported that TFG London sales rose 29.4% in GBP during FY2026. However, sales excluding the White Stuff acquisition were flat. The results also cited weaker occasion-wear performance and softer department-store trading alongside the online-partner disruption. The 29.4% figure is the segment’s reported year-on-year sales growth, not a measure of the cyber incident’s impact. TFG’s FY2026 results
These results put the disruption among several factors affecting the London portfolio’s trading. They do not separate its contribution from the other pressures or provide a standalone financial estimate.

What customers should do
TFG’s results do not provide incident-specific customer instructions. If you receive a message claiming your account needs attention, verify it through the company’s official website or app rather than following an unexpected link. The UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), commenting on a separate ASOS incident in October 2026, advised people to log in directly through the official service to change a password, monitor accounts, and use unique passwords and multi-factor authentication. This is general security advice, not a TFG incident update. The ICO’s chief executive, Paul Arnold, said: “If you want to change your password, log in to your account directly through the official website or app and update it in the usual way.” ICO statement, 7 October 2026
- Do not click unexpected links or open attachments in messages about an account problem.
- Navigate to the official site or app yourself to check for notices or change a password.
- Watch for unfamiliar activity on relevant accounts and contact the service through its verified support channels if you see anything suspicious.
- Use a unique password for each account and enable multi-factor authentication where available.
UK retail cyber incidents: context, not evidence about TFG
The UK government’s Cyber Security Breaches Survey 2025/2026, published on 30 April 2026, found that 31% of retail or wholesale businesses reported a breach or attack, compared with 43% of businesses overall. These are sector-wide survey figures; they do not identify TFG or its concession partner as affected businesses and do not explain this incident. Cyber Security Breaches Survey 2025/2026
The National Cyber Security Centre’s May 2025 warning about incidents affecting UK retailers is also broader context, not a statement about TFG or this partner. NCSC chief executive Dr Richard Horne said: “These incidents should act as a wake-up call to all organisations.” That general warning does not add details about the incident in TFG’s results.
