Playground Games has confirmed it will add a new location, vehicles and gameplay, but has not revealed where it takes players or named any specific additions. The date is official; the look and setting are not.
When does the first Forza Horizon 6 expansion come out?
Playground Games announced on October 8, 2026, that the first Premium Expansion arrives January 21, 2027. The developer’s official announcement gives the date for all platforms, and the Forza Horizon 6 game page also lists the expansion for January 21.

That is not the PS5 Standard and Deluxe base-game release date: those editions launch January 26, 2027. PS5 Premium Edition early access begins January 21, the same day as the expansion. The PS5 base game will also be available on disc at supporting retailers.
Has Playground Games revealed what the expansion will look like?
No setting, visual hint or specific feature has been announced in the official materials available as of October 8, 2026. Playground Games has only described the expansion in broad terms: a new location, vehicles and gameplay. Its Steam listing likewise keeps the content description generic and says the expansion requires Forza Horizon 6.

The studio had previously described two post-launch expansions in similarly broad terms, but the newer date announcement did not identify the first expansion’s setting or contents. A particular map, theme, car roster or gameplay feature would be speculation until Playground Games names it.
How can you get Expansion 1?
The expansion is included with Forza Horizon 6 Premium Edition, Premium Upgrade and Expansions Bundle, and is also planned for separate purchase, according to the official announcement and game page. Steam says the add-on requires the base game. The announcement confirms a physical PS5 base-game edition, but does not say that buying the disc includes Expansion 1.
