It is different from a Treasure Car: those are abandoned vehicles found by exploring the map and matching an in-game photograph. The names sound similar, but the activities, clues, and rewards are not interchangeable.
First, check which treasure activity you mean
| Activity | Where to find it | Clue | What you find | Does the paid Treasure Map help? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Seasonal Treasure Hunt | A particular event in the Festival Playlist | The current event prompt and its region | A chest whose reward and playlist contribution depend on that event | No. The Xbox Store says the map does not reveal Seasonal Collectables featured in the Festival Playlist. |
| Treasure Car | By exploring the map | A photograph provided in the game | An abandoned vehicle that can be restored and driven or added to your garage | Yes. The Xbox Store listing says the map can reveal Treasure Car locations. |
Forza describes the Treasure Car activity as finding abandoned vehicles from photo clues. Examples named by the developer include a 1991 Nissan Figaro, a 1985 Nissan Safari Turbo, and a 1969 Dodge Charger R/T. The official achievement list also distinguishes these cars from seasonal chest hunts: “A Fine Addition To My Collection” is for discovering and claiming one Treasure Car, while “Treasure Hunter” is for discovering and claiming nine.

How to solve a seasonal Treasure Hunt clue
- Open the current Festival Playlist. Select the Treasure Hunt event tile to read its live clue. Seasonal clues and chest locations change with the event, so an old walkthrough may describe a different hunt.
- Use the named region as a boundary. Search the area indicated by the event rather than treating a clue as a map-wide search. Read the prompt for its landmarks or terrain hints, then explore that region.
- Look for the chest and drive into it. In the September 24, 2026 Shimanoyama example, the chest was reported beside a winding snowy road in the south of the region; the guide instructed players to smash it. That location is an example, not a permanent chest position.
- Check the event tile after completing it. The playlist shows the event’s progress and what it contributes toward that season. Do not assume another Treasure Hunt has the same reward or point value.
There is no established universal number of clue stages, guaranteed car requirement, or fixed challenge sequence for every seasonal hunt. Follow the live prompt for the particular event; do not assume a vehicle or sequence based on a past guide.

Rewards are event-specific. For the Shimanoyama seasonal Treasure Hunt covered by PC Gamer on September 24, 2026, the reported chest reward was 100,000 credits, 5,000 XP, and three Season Progress points. Those figures describe that dated event only, not a standard reward schedule. Check the current Festival Playlist for the active event’s reward and contribution toward season progress.

Treasure Car achievements are separate from seasonal chest rewards. Forza’s achievement list identifies milestones for discovering and claiming one and nine Treasure Cars; those counts do not establish a seasonal chest-completion milestone.
Does the Forza Horizon 6 Treasure Map reveal seasonal chests?
No. The Xbox Store listing says the optional Treasure Map can show exact locations for Bonus Boards, Barn Finds, Regional Mascots, Treasure Chests, and Treasure Cars in the main game and expansions once available. It explicitly excludes seasonal Festival Playlist collectibles: “Please note this Treasure Map will not reveal the locations of Seasonal Collectables featured in the Festival Playlist.” So it is not a shortcut to the current seasonal Treasure Hunt chest.

Where to find the current Treasure Hunt location
Use the in-game Festival Playlist tile as the source for the active clue and event details. Search guides using the event’s region and week or date—for example, “Shimanoyama Treasure Hunt location”—and confirm the guide matches the clue displayed in your game. A route written for a past playlist event can become outdated when the clue or chest location changes.
