Short answer: FH6’s weekly Treasure Hunt is a Festival Playlist challenge found through a photo clue, not the paid Treasure Map. The available sources do not confirm whether an unclaimed chest carries over or respawns after Thursday’s reset, and they do not establish a guaranteed fix for a missing chest or unregistered reward. For a location, check a guide tied to the exact week and verify that it matches the active Playlist.
What is the weekly Treasure Hunt in Forza Horizon 6?
It is a weekly Festival Playlist challenge: the game gives you a named region and a photo clue to use in finding a chest. The recurring prompt is reported as “Follow the Photo Clue to Discover the Treasure!” by the FH6 Treasure Hunt reference; treat that wording as secondary-source reporting, rather than a verified current screenshot transcription.

Several FH6 features use “treasure” in their names, but they are separate activities:
- Treasure Hunt: the weekly Playlist chest challenge.
- Treasure Cars: cars parked in the world; the reference site counts nine.
- Barn Finds: restoration collectibles; the reference site counts fifteen.
- Treasure Map: a paid add-on for collectible locations, not the weekly seasonal chest.
The nine-car and fifteen-Barn-Find counts come from the reference site, not an official game source. The distinction that matters for the weekly hunt is confirmed by the Xbox Store listing: “Please note this Treasure Map will not reveal the locations of Seasonal Collectables featured in the Festival Playlist.”

Where is the current Treasure Hunt chest?
A weekly location is only useful when its week and reset timing match the Playlist you are playing. The October 1, 2026 PC Gamer guide reports a Nangan chest at Irokawa Space Center, on the upper level in the north corner, left of the large rocket and fuel tanks. The October 1 Series 5 Spring community breakdown also names Nangan.
Those reports do not settle whether Nangan was the active location after the October 1 reset. The FH6 Treasure Hunt tracker says the Playlist rollover occurred Thursday, October 1 at 14:30 UTC, but its post-rollover location was not confirmed in the information available at its October 3, 2026 update. The date printed on a guide alone does not establish whether it covers the Playlist before or after a reset. Check the in-game Playlist and use a guide explicitly matched to that week; do not assume the Nangan guide identifies the active post-reset chest.

What does a Treasure Hunt pay?
Rewards vary by hunt; do not treat one week’s guide as a universal payout. For the Nangan hunt, PC Gamer’s October 1, 2026 guide reports 100,000 credits, 5,000 XP, and three Season Progress points. The October 1 community breakdown independently lists three Playlist points and 100,000 credits, but it does not corroborate the XP figure. The tracker describes 100,000 CR and three Playlist points as a pattern for hunts where it has reward data, not a confirmed universal XP reward.
Playlist points contribute toward season milestones; they are not the same thing as a direct chest currency payout. The Nangan figures above apply to that dated guide and should not be combined with rewards from other weeks.

Does an unclaimed chest respawn or persist after Thursday?
That behavior is not established by the available sources. They do not verify whether a discovered but unclaimed chest persists through the Thursday rollover, respawns in the next Playlist, or disappears. The tracker reports finding no official statement or substantiated player report on persistence. Accordingly, do not rely on an unclaimed chest carrying over—or assume it vanishes—without confirmation for the specific event.
What should I check if the chest seems to be missing?
First separate a location mismatch from a chest or reward problem. A guide may describe a different week, and a photo clue points to a place rather than functioning as a text riddle. Compare the guide’s date, Playlist week, region, and reset timing with the active in-game challenge. The October 1 Nangan guide, for example, gives a specific search area at Irokawa Space Center, but the post-reset match was not independently confirmed by the tracker.

- Confirm that the weekly Treasure Hunt challenge is active in the Festival Playlist and note its named region and photo clue.
- Make sure the location guide matches the current week and reset, rather than relying only on its publication date.
- Use the photo clue to identify the intended place; the recurring prompt is reported by the reference site, not as a verified current screenshot.
- After reaching the reported spot, check the specified area carefully. For the dated Nangan example, the guide directs players to the upper level’s north corner near the rocket and fuel tanks.
No verified official recovery procedure is established for a chest that fails to appear or a reward that does not register. Restarting or repeating an action should not be presented as a guaranteed fix on this evidence.

Use the publication date, named Playlist week, region, reset timing, and source type together. A dated guide can give useful directions for its named hunt without proving that the same chest is active after a rollover. For October 1, 2026, PC Gamer and a community breakdown report Nangan, while the tracker says it had not verified the post-reset location as of October 3. The official Playground Games FAQ is an official general FAQ, but the cited page does not provide a developer statement about Treasure Hunt respawns, missing chests, or reward registration.
