Premium Edition is the Forza Horizon 6 edition that includes both announced expansions. Standard and Deluxe include the base game but do not include expansion content in their listed bundles. If you already own the game, Premium Upgrade includes both expansions plus the other Premium extras, while the Expansions Bundle includes the two expansions without the additional Premium items.
Expansion 1 is scheduled for January 21, 2027. Expansion 2 is included in the Premium contents list, but its release date has not been announced. The right purchase therefore depends on whether you need the base game, which extras you want, and whether you are buying on Xbox, PC or PS5.

Quick comparison of every Forza Horizon 6 option
The official edition comparison separates three full-game editions from two add-on products. The distinction matters: Premium Edition is a complete game purchase, while Premium Upgrade and Expansions Bundle require access to the base game through another purchase or an eligible subscription.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard Edition | Included | No expansion included | Full game | Players who want the base game and may decide on add-ons later |
| Deluxe Edition | Included | No expansion included | Welcome Pack and Car Pass | Players who want the full game and those two extras, but not the Premium expansion bundle |
| Premium Edition | Included | Expansion 1 and Expansion 2 | VIP Membership, Welcome Pack, Car Pass, Time Attack Car Pack and Italian Passion Car Pack | New buyers who want the full game and both announced expansions |
| Premium Upgrade | Not included; the game is required separately, subject to eligible Game Pass terms | Expansion 1 and Expansion 2 | VIP Membership, Welcome Pack, Car Pass, Time Attack Car Pack and Italian Passion Car Pack | Existing Standard or Deluxe owners and eligible Game Pass members |
| Expansions Bundle | Not included; it is an add-on bundle | Expansion 1 and Expansion 2 | The two expansions | Players who want both expansions without the other Premium extras |
The first expansion is also sold separately. Playground Games’ October 8, 2026 announcement says it is included with Premium Edition, Premium Upgrade and Expansions Bundle at no additional charge within those products, and can also be purchased as an individual add-on.

Does Premium Edition include the expansion?
Yes. Premium Edition includes Expansion 1 and Expansion 2, along with the base game and the listed Premium extras. It is the straightforward choice for someone buying Forza Horizon 6 for the first time who wants the two announced expansions in one edition.
Expansion 1 is scheduled to launch across platforms on January 21, 2027. Expansion 2 appears in the Premium contents listing, but its timing is currently described only as “available at a later date.” No official release date or named expansion details were established in the announcements available for this comparison.
What else Premium Edition adds
- VIP Membership
- Welcome Pack
- Car Pass
- Time Attack Car Pack
- Italian Passion Car Pack
These extras are separate from the expansion worlds or expansion content. If your only goal is the expansions, the Expansions Bundle may be a closer fit for an existing owner; if you also want the Premium add-ons, Premium Edition or Premium Upgrade includes them together.
Does Deluxe Edition include expansions?
No. Deluxe Edition includes the full game, Welcome Pack and Car Pass, but the official comparison does not list Expansion 1 or Expansion 2 as part of Deluxe. Buying Deluxe therefore does not provide either announced expansion automatically.
Deluxe can make sense when you specifically want the Welcome Pack and Car Pass but do not want to buy the Premium bundle at launch. You can later evaluate an expansion purchase separately, subject to the products and prices offered by your platform store. The first expansion is confirmed as a standalone purchase, while the reviewed official information does not provide a separate release arrangement for Expansion 2.
Premium Upgrade versus Expansions Bundle
These are both add-on paths, not replacements for the base game. You should confirm what license you already own before selecting one.
Premium Upgrade
Premium Upgrade contains Expansion 1, Expansion 2 and the other Premium extras: VIP Membership, Welcome Pack, Car Pass, Time Attack Car Pack and Italian Passion Car Pack. It is intended for people who already own Standard or Deluxe, as well as eligible Game Pass members under the terms stated in the Xbox and PC availability announcement.
The upgrade does not include the game itself. If your access comes from Game Pass, verify that your subscription tier and platform qualify at the time you purchase. Product labels and eligibility can change in a store without changing the contents described in the original announcement.
Expansions Bundle
Expansions Bundle contains Expansion 1 and Expansion 2 only. It does not list VIP Membership, Welcome Pack, Car Pass or the two additional car packs. It also does not include the base game.
This makes it the focused choice for an owner who wants the two expansion releases and does not need the Premium extras. The bundle also avoids buying the full game a second time, provided your existing license is valid on the same platform ecosystem and the store recognizes it.
Which add-on should an existing owner choose?
- Choose Premium Upgrade when you want both expansions and all the listed Premium extras.
- Choose Expansions Bundle when you want the two expansions and nothing else from Premium.
- Check the store page before paying if your game access comes from Game Pass, a disc or a different account, because eligibility is platform- and license-dependent.
Expansion 1 release date and early access
Expansion 1 is scheduled for January 21, 2027, across platforms. It is included in Premium Edition, Premium Upgrade and Expansions Bundle, and it can be bought separately.
PS5 has a different base-game launch schedule. Standard and Deluxe editions are scheduled for January 26, 2027, while PS5 Premium owners receive five-day early access beginning January 21, 2027. That early-access statement is specific to the PS5 launch announcement; do not assume it describes every platform or every Premium-related product.

Expansion 2 is listed as part of Premium Edition, Premium Upgrade and Expansions Bundle, but its timing remains unannounced beyond “available at a later date.” Treat any retailer date or social-media estimate as unconfirmed until Playground Games or the relevant platform store publishes one.
Platform availability and buying requirements
Xbox Series X|S and PC
Xbox Series X|S and PC versions are already available as of October 13, 2026. The official launch announcement states that Standard Edition is included with Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. The official game page lists access through the Xbox app and Steam.
Game Pass access is not the same as owning Premium Edition. A subscriber may have the base game while still needing Premium Upgrade or Expansions Bundle for the expansions. The Premium Upgrade announcement specifically ties eligibility to the game being owned separately or to eligible Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass terms, so read the current store description for your account and platform.
PlayStation 5
For PS5, Standard and Deluxe are scheduled for January 26, 2027. Premium owners are scheduled to start five-day early access on January 21. Playground Games also confirms that a PS5 disc version will be available through supporting retailers.
The announcement does not establish that every edition, or specifically every Premium configuration, will be offered as a physical disc. A disc listing may differ from a digital Premium bundle in contents and entitlement. Before ordering, verify the exact edition name, platform, format and included add-ons on the retailer or PlayStation Store page.
Physical versus digital purchases
A physical PS5 copy is a base-game purchase path, not automatically a Premium Upgrade. Do not treat an upgrade product as a boxed game: Premium Upgrade is an add-on that requires the game separately or qualifying subscription access. The same distinction applies to the Expansions Bundle.

- Decide whether you need the base game. If you do not already own Forza Horizon 6 or have qualifying Game Pass access, start with Standard, Deluxe or Premium Edition. Premium Upgrade and Expansions Bundle are not standalone games.
- Decide whether you want both expansions. Premium Edition, Premium Upgrade and Expansions Bundle list Expansion 1 and Expansion 2. Standard and Deluxe do not.
- Choose your extras. Premium Edition and Premium Upgrade include VIP Membership, Welcome Pack, Car Pass, Time Attack Car Pack and Italian Passion Car Pack. Expansions Bundle does not list those items.
- Check your platform date. Xbox Series X|S and PC are available as of October 13, 2026. PS5 Standard and Deluxe are scheduled for January 26, 2027, with Premium early access from January 21.
- Verify the account and store. Confirm Game Pass eligibility, platform ownership, edition contents and whether the listing is digital or disc before checkout.

Expansion 2 has no announced timing in the official edition comparison. The availability of a PS5 disc is confirmed through supporting retailers, but a universal physical Premium package is not confirmed.
The game itself is described on the official Forza page as featuring more than 550 real-world cars. That figure applies to the game overall and is not an edition-by-edition car-count difference.
Bottom-line decisions
For a new buyer who wants everything
Buy Premium Edition if you want the complete game, both announced expansions and the listed Premium extras in one product.
For a new buyer who wants only the game
Choose Standard Edition. It includes the full game and leaves expansion purchases for later.

Choose Deluxe Edition if Welcome Pack and Car Pass are the priority and you do not need the expansions included at purchase.
For someone who already owns the game
Compare Premium Upgrade with Expansions Bundle. The Upgrade adds all the Premium extras as well as both expansions; the Expansions Bundle is limited to the two expansions.
For someone deciding about Expansion 1 alone
Expansion 1 can be purchased separately, so you do not need Premium Edition solely to access that expansion. Confirm the current standalone listing and compatibility on your platform store.
