Fortnitemares adds six named Sprites, several temporary gameplay effects, and new weapons and items. Find the event Sprites in Pumpkin Chests across the Island; Honey Sprite and Obsession Sprite are scheduled to arrive on October 15, 2026. Epic’s event announcement is the source for the powers and additions below, which may change as the event progresses.
Fortnitemares Sprite powers
Epic says to search Pumpkin Chests scattered across the Island for Sprites, with additions appearing during the month. The official descriptions do not give numerical damage, healing, charge, cooldown, or drop-rate values, so the table sticks to the effects Epic names.

Epic has not published enough information here to rank the Sprites by strength or compare their exact performance. The effects above are the event announcement’s descriptions, not measured damage or healing values. Read Epic’s Fortnitemares announcement.
How finding and extracting Sprites works
The broader Sprite collection system was described in Epic’s v41.00 season notes. Those notes say a Sprite found during a match must be carried to an Extraction Site and banked before elimination. Once extracted, it joins your collection, and you can summon it in later matches by spending Sprite Dust. Epic also describes leveling Sprites through exploration, eliminations, and extraction, with progression rewards for mastering a max-level Sprite.

- Epic’s June 5, 2026 season launch article gives examples of possible Sprite powers such as shields, temporary invisibility, and bonus burst damage. Those are examples from the Runners launch overview, not additional powers in the Fortnitemares roster above.
- Epic Support says Sprites continue into Chapter 7 Season 4, with collected Runners Sprites represented in a Sprite Garden. Players can play with Sprites, visit friends’ garden sanctuaries, and display collections. That transition does not establish that every power remains unchanged in the next season.
These collection details come from season-level explanations; Epic’s Fortnitemares announcement does not confirm whether every extraction, leveling, and summoning detail remains unchanged for each event Sprite. Fortnitemares Overrides
Epic says new Fortnitemares Overrides can add temporary effects that cloak players while sprinting, increase hits as health drops, disguise a player as a Halloween prop, trade shields for extra health, or add pumpkin rockets while shooting. The announcement does not attach numeric strength or duration values to these descriptions.

Possessed animatronics
Players may possess defeated Five Nights at Freddy’s animatronics. If health bottoms out while a player is possessed, there is a brief non-elimination interval before the shell breaks. Epic does not specify the interval’s length in the announcement.
Weapons and items
- Bonerattler SMG: reveals enemies through walls.
- Freddy’s Nightmare: claimed after defeating Freddy Krueger at Nightmare Neighborhood; it teleports the user into range to slash the next opponent.
- Returning items and weapons: Wood Stake Shotgun, Dual Fiend Hunters, Witch Broom, and Heavy Assault Rifle.
- Snack-O’-Lantern Gizmo: spills Exotic Candy when thrown and smashed.
Mode and schedule details
Epic’s announcement identifies Horde Rush and Blitz Royale content and says the Reload map refresh is scheduled for October 8, 2026. It also lists an October 3 Power Hour, when everyone drops in with Dual Fiend Hunters and Bounty Hunter Sprite appearances are increased. These are time-sensitive event details; check Epic’s announcement for current availability and playlist rotation.

Visual and audio fixes are not Sprite powers
Fortnitemares also includes fixes that affect presentation rather than gameplay abilities. Epic lists missing Batmobile boost sound effects and missing blades and visual effects for The Foundation’s Plasma Spike Pickaxe as fixed. It also lists a Nintendo Switch 2 fix for intense flashing when Rebecca’s Guns were fired. These patch fixes are separate from the Sprite powers and other gameplay additions.
