The Fortnitemares 2026 loot pool includes the new Bonerattler SMG, returning weapons and items, and several explicit vault changes—but it is not one identical list across every Fortnite mode. Epic’s October 1 announcement says the event runs until November 1, 2026. Its detailed post distinguishes standard event updates from player-unlocked Loot Hacks, while Blitz Royale has its own rotation and Ranked and Competitive receive only a portion of the event vaults and unvaults.
What is new in the Fortnitemares 2026 loot pool?
Epic identifies the Bonerattler SMG as a new weapon. The event announcement says it reveals enemies through walls; Epic does not provide damage, range, or spawn-rate figures in the announcement. Epic’s event overview and its detailed Fortnitemares post also introduce Freddy’s Nightmare, a special item earned by defeating Freddy Krueger at the Nightmare Neighborhood POI. It lets its holder teleport into range and slash at an opponent.
Which weapons are returning, vaulted or unvaulted?
Epic’s detailed event post identifies the following returning items and explicit loot-pool changes. “Returning” is Epic’s event label; it does not mean an item is available in every playlist or through every spawn method.
| Item | Event status | What Epic says about its use or context |
|---|---|---|
| Wood Stake Shotgun | Returning | Listed among the event’s new and returning weapons; also appears in Blitz Royale’s seasonal rotation. |
| Dual Fiend Hunters | Returning | Listed among the event’s new and returning weapons. |
| Witch Broom | Returning | Listed among the event’s new and returning weapons. |
| Heavy Assault Rifle | Returning | Listed among the event’s new and returning weapons. |
| Quack Snacks | Unvaulted | Named in Epic’s general loot-pool updates. |
| Drum Gun | Vaulted | Named in Epic’s general loot-pool updates. |
| Ranger Assault Rifle | Vaulted | Named in Epic’s general loot-pool updates. |
| Tetris Rift | Vaulted | Named in Epic’s general loot-pool updates. |
| Snack-O’-Lantern Gizmo | New loot-pool item | Throw it and break it open to spill Exotic Candy. |
These statuses reflect the items Epic specifically names in its Fortnitemares loot-pool update. The announcement does not give item-by-item spawn rates, damage statistics, or a full schedule for how long each item remains available.

Loot Hacks are separate from the general pool
Epic says players can unlock Loot Hacks to customize their loot pool. The announced Loot Hacks are Last Call, Infantry Rifle, Pumpkin Launcher, Light Machine Gun, Slap Candy Corn, and Loot Hacker Sprite variants. Treat these as unlockable customization choices, not as a promise that every player will find each item as ordinary floor loot.
Last Call also has a specific role in Blitz Royale: Epic describes it as a knife associated with becoming Ghost Face. Eliminating the player wielding it takes the weapon and the role. That special Blitz description should not be read as the acquisition rule for all modes.

Blitz Royale has its own Fortnitemares rotation
Epic’s v42.30 Blitz update notes list a separate seasonal rotation. The Blitz list includes Bonerattler SMG, Chainsaw, Freddy’s Nightmare, Infantry Rifle, Last Call, Makeshift Revolver, Myst Form, Pump Shotgun, Pumpkin Launcher, Wood Stake Shotgun, Striker Assault Rifle, Tactical Submachine Gun, Candy Corn, Hop Drops, and Peppermints. This is a Blitz-specific lineup, not a definitive list of what spawns in standard Battle Royale.
Blitz Royale spawn and loadout context
- Battle Bus loadouts: Epic lists Wood Stake Shotgun, Pump Shotgun, Makeshift Revolver, Striker Assault Rifle, and either Bonerattler SMG or Tactical Submachine Gun, along with Hop Drops and Peppermints.
- Gold Chests: They may contain Chainsaw, Myst Form, Last Call, or Freddy’s Nightmare, as well as seasonal weapons and candy.
- Gold Llamas and Gold Supply Drops: These can contain Pumpkin Launcher and higher-rarity seasonal weapons.
Epic’s categories matter: a listed rotation item is not necessarily available from every container or as a standard ground spawn.

What about Reload, Ranked and Competitive?
Epic announced that the updated Nitemare Island Reload map would arrive on October 8, 2026, with horror weapons and siphon loot; Stranger Things and Squid Grounds were also announced for the map rotation. As of October 3, that update was still scheduled for a future date, not confirmed as live. The main event overview frames Fortnitemares across Battle Royale, Horde Rush, and Reload, so do not treat the October 8 Reload update as an already active feature at the October 3 announcement snapshot.
Epic says Ranked and Competitive will receive only a portion of the Fortnitemares vaults and unvaults. It does not identify a complete item-by-item Ranked or Competitive list in the cited event post, so the full event lineup should not be assumed to apply to those playlists.
