In Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4: Override, find a hidden Cheat Code on the Island, interact with it, and enter the code to free a Sprite. Follow the directions shown in-game: Override uses a new Sprite generation and its mechanics differ from those in the previous Runners season. Sprites are in-game helpers that grant powers, not real-world collectibles, and they are unavailable in competitive modes.
How do you find and free a Sprite in Override?
Epic’s Chapter 7 Season 4: Override announcement says Cheat Codes are hidden around the Island. Interact with one and enter its code to free a Sprite. Use the current on-screen directions to complete the interaction, since the official announcement does not provide a full location map or exact spawn odds.

Override also introduced season-specific tools and mechanics. The Cheat Code Locator locates the nearest Cheat Code, while the Extraction Accelerator silently initiates a nearby Extraction Site. The update describes Sprite Dust as a way to hack loot. These are season-bound details; check the live game’s prompts and item descriptions for what is available in your match.

Epic describes Sprites as helpers players can find and equip during a match to gain a special Sprite Power. The specific powers and tools can change between seasons, so use the Sprite’s in-game description rather than assuming that a power or use from an earlier season still applies. Sprites are not available in competitive modes, according to Epic’s Fortnite support page.

What happened to Runners Sprite collection progress?
Epic says Sprites collected in Chapter 7 Season 3: Runners were preserved in the Sprite Garden, where players can visit friends’ garden sanctuaries and play with Sprites. Those Sprites also remain on the Sprite Collection page and appear as unlocked styles for the Sprite Mastery Pod Back Bling and pilots for the Guardian Outfit. Gizmos and Sprite Dust reset at the end of Runners, according to the season announcement.
How did Sprite collecting work in Runners?
The following describes the previous season, not the current Override collection process. In Runners, players found a Sprite in a match, took it to an Extraction Site, defended the pickup while its timer ran, and banked it to add it to their collection for future matches. Successful extractions earned Sprite Dust, which could be spent to summon previously extracted Sprites at the start of a match or upgrade their powers and loot. Players leveled Sprites through exploration, eliminations, and extraction; extracting a max-level Sprite completed its mastery.

Runners’ Portable Extractors and other Gizmos could shorten or boost extraction. These steps and costs should not be treated as Override instructions: Epic’s v41.00 Runners notes describe the prior-season system, while the Override update introduced a different generation and tools.

Why is a Sprite missing from the Collection?
If a Sprite was successfully extracted but did not appear in the Collection, Epic’s support guidance is to submit a bug report in-game. The guidance does not specify a manual recovery method. See Epic’s answer about a Sprite missing from the Collection.

What is not established about Sprite spawns?
Epic’s official Override materials do not give a complete current spawn map, guaranteed coordinates, or exact spawn probabilities. Treat player-posted locations or odds as unverified unless confirmed in the live game or by an official update. Sprite rosters, tools, resources, and discovery methods can change with the season.
