Fortnite Secret Rooms and Vaults: Chapter 7 Season 4 Locations and Keys

Current guides for Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4: Override describe two openable vaults: one at Stone Sanctum and one at Mega Maze. Both use Temple Vault Keys, but Stone Sanctum requires two keys while Mega Maze requires one. The exact map and routes can change, so check the live game for current directions.

Where are the Fortnite vault locations?

Nintendo Life’s guide, published August 21, 2026, and Beebom’s guide, updated September 4, 2026, both describe these two locations for Chapter 7 Season 4: Override.

Location Keys needed How access works
Stone Sanctum Two Temple Vault Keys Place both keys on the pedestals by the central water; it drains to reveal the vault chamber. Sources: Nintendo Life and Beebom.
Mega Maze One Temple Vault Key Find the hidden key container, then place the key at the pedestal to open the secret route to the chamber. Sources: Nintendo Life and Beebom.

These are current-guide findings rather than an independent live-game check. The number and position of vaults can change between seasons.

How do you open the Stone Sanctum vault?

  1. Search for the two hidden Temple Vault Key containers near the eastern towers.
  2. Collect both keys and take them to the pedestals by the central water.
  3. Place one key on each pedestal. The water drains, exposing the vault chamber.

The eastern-tower container locations and opening sequence are described by Nintendo Life and Beebom.

How do you find and open the Mega Maze vault?

  1. Search the maze for the hidden container holding a Temple Vault Key, and break the container to get the key.
  2. Carry the key to the vault pedestal and place it there to open the secret door or route to the chamber.

The guides differ on how to locate the container: Nintendo Life describes a container that moves through the maze and can be tracked by its trail from above; Beebom describes one revealed by a transparent wall along a maze route. Because those details do not match, use the live maze layout rather than relying on a single exact route. See Nintendo Life and Beebom.

Do older Fortnite vault-opening instructions still work?

Not necessarily. Vault locations, key types, and opening steps are season-dependent. In its official Chapter 6 Season 2 announcement, Epic said, “The ONLY way to crack a vault is with Thermite, a powerful explosive found stashed away around the map.” That described the Chapter 6 Season 2 method, not the Temple Vault Key instructions in current Chapter 7 Season 4 guides. Read Epic’s Chapter 6 Season 2 announcement.

Does “vault” mean a hidden room or a removed item?

Here, “vault” means a hidden room players can open in the map. Epic also uses “vaulted” for weapons or other items that were released and later made unavailable. Epic’s terminology entry explains that separate usage.
