“Cartridge hacks” in Fortnite’s Chapter 7 Season 4: Override are official in-game systems—not an external cheat program or a physical cartridge you need to buy. The four mechanics are Lobby Hacks, Loot Hacks, Island Cheat Codes and Match Overrides. To use them, enter a Lobby Hack code in the Battle Royale Lobby’s Admin Panel, spend Sprite Dust to configure possible chest drops, enter a code found on the Island to free a Sprite, or claim an Override Console during a match.
The names, effects and availability can change with updates. The examples below reflect Epic’s v42.00 launch notes and v42.20 update notes, rather than a guarantee that every item remains available in the current game.

How to use Fortnite Override hacks

Enter a Lobby Hack code
- Open the Battle Royale Lobby.
- Open the new Admin Panel.
- Enter a Lobby Hack code in the panel and confirm it in-game.
Epic’s launch notes describe Lobby Hacks as a code feature that can provide rewards or effects for your squad, including XP, Sprite Dust and possible rare Sprite variants. The notes do not establish a permanent code list, so rely on codes shown by the current game or official Fortnite materials rather than assuming an old code still works.

Spend Sprite Dust on Loot Hacks
Loot Hacks let you customize potential chest drops by spending Sprite Dust. A hacked item has a chance to appear when you open a chest; selecting it does not guarantee that every chest will contain it. Epic says the configuration can be reset using Sprite Dust, so check the current interface before changing your setup.

Find Island Cheat Codes and free a Sprite
- Look for a Cheat Code around the Island. Epic says codes may be found at POIs or sprayed on walls.
- Interact with the code to bring up its entry prompt.
- Enter the displayed directional sequence to free a Sprite ally.
Epic’s v42.00 notes show ⬆️⬆️⬇️⬇️⬅️➡️⬅️➡️ as an example sequence; do not assume it is the code for every location. The notes also describe a Cheat Code Locator Gizmo that points to the nearest code. In v42.20, Epic documented changes to Cheat Code rarity, so the codes and rewards may differ by patch.

Claim an Override Console without overlooking the risk
Override Consoles appear during matches. Interact with one to claim its effect. Epic says the claimant’s name appears around the console’s base, making the claim visible to nearby players. Rare and Mythic Squad Overrides have an additional trade-off: only the first squad to claim one receives its benefit, and the squad’s location is broadcast on the map.
Epic’s v42.00 launch list included Sonic Speed, More XP, Loot Hack, Extra Life, Big Fish, Constant Heal, Infinite Stamina, Headshot, Overshield, Speed Shooter, Big Loot and Power Pickaxe. Treat those as launch examples, not the full current selection.

For v42.20, Epic added Recovery, Level Up, Dynamic Storm, Super Shot, Big Boom and Healing Overdrive. Suppressing Fire and Health Siphon were described as upcoming in those notes; that wording does not establish whether or when they subsequently became available. Check the current console and current patch notes before planning around a particular effect. The dated lists are in the v42.00 notes and v42.20 notes.
Check the current patch and game mode
Override features are patch-sensitive. Epic’s v42.00 notes recorded Sprites enabled in Ranked Battle Royale with their gameplay powers disabled, then said on August 28 that Sprites were vaulted in Ranked while Epic evaluated their place in that loot pool. This is a dated status, not confirmation of the current Ranked rules. Check the mode’s present in-game UI and the latest official notes before relying on Sprites or any specific hack in Ranked.

Epic announced Chapter 7 Season 4: Override on August 20, 2026; v42.00 documented the launch mechanics, and v42.20 later recorded refreshed Loot Hacks, added Match Overrides and changes to Cheat Code rarity. Those patch notes describe the game at the time they were published. The live game client is the practical source for what is available now.
