Fortnite Festival’s changing track access
Epic calls its music items Jam Tracks. On Main Stage, players perform tracks from a featured rotation; Epic says some Jam Tracks are unlocked through seasonal pass progression and others can be obtained in the Shop. The catalog and featured selection are volatile, and Epic’s documentation cited here does not establish a fixed total song count. Check the current in-game listing for a particular song rather than relying on an old launch list.

Standard Main Stage parts and guitar-controller parts
Epic lists six Main Stage parts: Lead, Drum, Vocals, Bass, Pro Lead, and Pro Bass. Pro Lead and Pro Bass appear when a guitar controller is connected. Epic’s documentation does not establish a single recommended guitar-controller model, so verify the exact controller’s Festival compatibility before buying or relying on it.
Pro Drums and legacy hardware
Epic says Festival Pro Drums was designed for wireless Rock Band 4 drum peripherals and properly configured MIDI kits. Compatibility is not universal: Epic’s table distinguishes platforms and connection methods, including a Windows configuration for Xbox One Rock Band 4 drums using an Xbox controller dongle, native PS4/PS5 support for PS4 Rock Band 4 drums, and native Windows support for e-kits and other MIDI devices. Epic’s documentation supports looking for compatible Rock Band 4 drums as a category, not assuming that any used drum kit—or every peripheral sold under that name—will work. Similarly, “MIDI compatible” is not a blanket guarantee for every kit or platform.
How multiplayer differs in Festival

Main Stage is Festival’s performance mode: players take instrument parts on Jam Tracks, and Epic describes it as playable solo or with friends. The official details cited here do not establish a current player limit or specific matchmaking, local co-op, cross-platform, or network options, so check the current in-game settings for those details.

Jam Stage: mix loops together
Jam Stage is a different kind of group activity from a conventional band performance. Epic says players can choose Lead, Drum, Vocals, or Bass loops, switch parts, and mix music with up to four people. That makes it the documented option for collaborative loop-mixing; it should not be confused with playing a full song’s instrument charts together on Main Stage.
Rock Band multiplayer is not resolved here
The available authoritative sources do not verify current Rock Band 4 local or online multiplayer details. Do not assume from the series’ name or its history that a particular couch-play, online, matchmaking, or cross-platform setup is currently available. Confirm the relevant platform’s current product and support information before choosing on that basis.

What the Rock Band connection does—and does not—tell you
Fortnite Festival has a clear rhythm-game lineage. In a December 12, 2023 launch article, Xbox Wire contributor Matt Cabral described Festival as a Harmonix-developed game that “shares many similarities with the studio’s iconic Guitar Hero and Rock Band games.” That is useful historical context, not proof of present-day feature parity. Xbox Wire’s launch report also described Festival’s standard-controller controls at the time; Epic’s later documentation of guitar-controller parts and Pro Drums means that launch-era control description should not be treated as current guidance.
