Ramina Ashfaque says she started Ashh Scrubs after the scrubs available to her as a nurse did not suit her preferred fit. The former nurse describes her designs as fitted and “more girly”; Local 10 reports that she left nursing three months after launching the business to run it full-time.
Why Ramina Ashfaque started Ashh Scrubs
Local 10 identifies Ashfaque as the founder and CEO of Ashh Scrubs. In the station’s September 28, 2026 profile, she links the idea to her own experience working as a nurse: she did not like the scrubs available to her and decided to make a style she wanted to wear.
“I did pageants in my 20s, and then I went on to become a nurse, and then I just saw that I didn’t like any of the scrubs that were out there, so, I just decided to make my own,” Ashfaque told Local 10.
Her complaint about the fit was personal, not a claim about every nurse’s experience. “They’re fitted, as you can tell. More girly. I was always like the skinnier girl, so they all felt like a big paper bag on me,” she said.
