If your YouTube Live real-estate tour ends when its playlist reaches the last video, first check whether the incoming feed has actually stopped. If it has, enable repeat in the player or playout service feeding your encoder, then test the transition through the end of a full cycle. A YouTube playlist viewers can open is separate from the prerecorded media source being sent to the live stream.
First determine what stopped
Open YouTube Live Control Room and check whether the broadcast is still live and its preview or incoming feed is continuing to change. YouTube distinguishes the watchable broadcast from the stream: the stream is the audio-video feed sent to YouTube and is associated with the broadcast. YouTube’s live-streaming documentation describes that distinction.

- The broadcast ended or the preview froze at the playlist boundary: investigate the media source and encoder. YouTube’s encoder guidance says, “To end the stream, stop sending content from your encoder.” This makes source exhaustion a plausible explanation, but it does not establish the cause in every encoder setup. Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
- The broadcast and incoming feed continue, but one viewer’s playback stopped: troubleshoot that viewer’s device, app, browser, or connection separately. A viewer-side playback interruption does not by itself mean the broadcast ended.
Make the tour source repeat
If the feed ends when the prerecorded tour playlist runs out, configure repeat in the application or hosted playout service that plays the videos into the encoder. The repeat option belongs to that source or playout workflow; YouTube’s general encoder instructions do not define one universal loop control.
- Identify exactly what is playing the tour videos: an encoder’s media player, another local playback application, or a hosted playout service.
- Enable the source’s repeat, loop, or continuous-play option for the individual video or playlist, as appropriate. The label and location depend on the product; consult its instructions rather than assuming a YouTube setting will loop the encoder’s source.
- Confirm the encoder continues sending audio and video after the final item. Watch the Live Control Room preview, not just the local player.
Test the cycle transition before relying on the stream
Use an unlisted or otherwise controlled test so you can observe the handoff without relying on a public broadcast. YouTube recommends checking the preview before starting and monitoring stream quality during the broadcast. Its encoder guide provides the relevant workflow.

- Start the source and encoder, then verify access and confirm that Live Control Room shows the expected video and audio.
- Leave the test running until the playlist reaches its final item and should begin again.
- Check that the source advances to the beginning, the encoder’s outgoing feed remains active, and the Live Control Room preview continues.
- If the preview continues but a viewer still cannot watch, test playback on another device or browser and inspect the affected viewer’s connection and app.
If the feed still stops
- Check whether the source is set to repeat the playlist rather than only the current item, or vice versa.
- Check whether the player or encoder process closes, pauses, or loses its media input at the end of the file.
- Check encoder status and Live Control Room together: a local screen showing a loop is not proof that YouTube is still receiving the feed.
- Repeat the controlled test after changing one setting at a time so you can identify which change fixed the transition.
Keep HLS ingestion separate from a tour playlist
If your encoder sends a stream to YouTube using HLS, check HLS delivery as a separate technical issue. HLS media playlists describe the order of media segments; they are not the same thing as a playlist of property-tour videos or a viewer’s YouTube playlist. YouTube’s HLS ingestion requirements say sequence numbers must increase monotonically, updated playlists should be sent for each segment, and a playlist should have no more than five outstanding segments. These rules apply to HLS encoder ingestion, not every protocol or an ordinary viewer playlist. See YouTube’s HLS ingestion guide.
When unattended looping needs a different setup
If your current player or encoder cannot keep the tour source running unattended, compare hosted playout or continuous-streaming services. Check whether the specific service can loop your source continuously, recover after an interruption, show stream health, and support your format and YouTube destination. YouTube lists examples of encoder software and hosted services in its encoder guide; that list is not an endorsement, so verify current capabilities, pricing, reliability, and terms with the provider.
