If a YouTube bhajan livestream buffers on a home server over Wi‑Fi, first find out whether the problem follows the server or affects the whole home network. Try the same stream on another device on the same Wi‑Fi, then—if practical—try the server on another connection. Check the server’s Wi‑Fi conditions, reduce competing traffic, lower playback quality, and compare with Ethernet. If the server is sending the livestream rather than watching it, inspect YouTube’s stream-health warnings instead: playback buffering and encoder problems need different diagnoses.
First identify whether the server is watching or broadcasting
“Home server” can mean a computer playing the bhajan livestream or a machine sending a livestream to YouTube. If it is playing the stream, use the playback checks below. If it is originating the stream, skip to the broadcaster checks. The operating system, playback app, router, ISP, Wi‑Fi band, and video quality are unknown, so no single setting can be assumed to apply.

Diagnose playback buffering in this order
1. See whether the problem follows the server
- Play the same livestream on another supported device connected to the same home Wi‑Fi.
- If possible, connect the server to a different internet connection, such as a mobile hotspot, and try again. Check your mobile plan first; data charges may apply.
- Compare the results. If only the server buffers, investigate its browser or playback app, available system resources, cache, and updates. If several devices buffer, prioritize the router, Wi‑Fi conditions, network congestion, ISP path, or a YouTube-side issue.
YouTube’s buffering troubleshooting guidance recommends replaying the video and trying a different internet connection. A speed-test result alone cannot establish which part of the path is causing interruptions.
2. Check the Wi‑Fi path at the server
- Temporarily move the server closer to the router and compare playback.
- Avoid testing with the server behind metal, inside a recessed space, or otherwise blocked from the router.
- Pause heavy downloads, backups, or other high-traffic use by devices on the home network during the comparison.
YouTube’s guidance for TV playback recommends keeping the device within router range, reducing interference, and limiting other connected devices when the connection is slow. These are diagnostic comparisons, not proof that any one condition is the cause.

- DUAL-BAND WIFI 6 ROUTER: Wi-Fi 6(802.11ax) technology achieves faster speeds, greater capacity and reduced network congestion compared to the previous gen. All WiFi routers require a separate modem. Dual-Band WiFi routers do not support the 6 GHz band.
- AX1800: Enjoy smoother and more stable streaming, gaming, downloading with 1.8 Gbps total bandwidth (up to 1200 Mbps on 5 GHz and up to 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz). Performance varies by conditions, distance to devices, and obstacles such as walls.
- CONNECT MORE DEVICES: Wi-Fi 6 technology communicates more data to more devices simultaneously using revolutionary OFDMA technology
- EXTENSIVE COVERAGE: Achieve the strong, reliable WiFi coverage with Archer AX1800 as it focuses signal strength to your devices far away using Beamforming technology, 4 high-gain antennas and an advanced front-end module (FEM) chipset
- OUR CYBERSECURITY COMMITMENT: TP-Link is a signatory of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) Secure-by-Design pledge. This device is designed, built, and maintained, with advanced security as a core requirement.
3. Lower the player’s quality
If YouTube offers manual quality control for the player, select a lower quality and see whether playback becomes continuous. YouTube’s TV troubleshooting describes changing video quality manually. If the lower setting helps, the current path or device may not sustain the selected playback mode; this test alone does not identify whether Wi‑Fi, the ISP path, the server, or another factor is limiting it.
YouTube recommends at least 7 Mbps for HD streaming on TV. That is guidance for HD playback on a television—not a universal guarantee for every resolution, server, or live stream. See YouTube’s buffering guidance for its stated scope.

- Dual-band Wi-Fi with 5 GHz speeds up to 867 Mbps and 2.4 GHz speeds up to 300 Mbps, delivering 1200 Mbps of total bandwidth¹. Dual-band routers do not support 6 GHz. Performance varies by conditions, distance to devices, and obstacles such as walls.
- Covers up to 1,000 sq. ft. with four external antennas for stable wireless connections and optimal coverage.
- Supports IGMP Proxy/Snooping, Bridge and Tag VLAN to optimize IPTV streaming
- Access Point Mode - Supports AP Mode to transform your wired connection into wireless network, an ideal wireless router for home
- Advanced Security with WPA3 - The latest Wi-Fi security protocol, WPA3, brings new capabilities to improve cybersecurity in personal networks
4. Compare Wi‑Fi with Ethernet
If the server and router have compatible network ports and you have a suitable cable, connect them temporarily and replay the stream. This comparison can help show whether the wireless link is involved; it is not a guaranteed fix. If buffering continues over Ethernet, investigate the wider home network, ISP path, playback device, or YouTube service. YouTube’s advice to try another connection is the relevant general diagnostic step: buffering troubleshooting.

| Test | What it helps isolate | Trade-off or limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Another device on the same Wi‑Fi | Whether the issue appears specific to the server | No purchase required; devices may differ in playback capability |
| Same server on another connection | Whether the home Wi‑Fi or ISP path is implicated | A hotspot may incur mobile data charges |
| Move server closer; reduce network activity | Whether placement or competing local traffic matters | Temporary and reversible; does not isolate every network cause |
| Lower playback quality | Whether the selected playback mode is sustainable | Less visual detail; does not identify the limiting component |
| Temporary Ethernet connection | Whether Wi‑Fi may be involved | Requires compatible ports and a cable; not a guaranteed remedy |
| ISP diagnostics | Provider- or router-related faults, depending on the ISP’s tools | Steps vary by provider; JioFiber’s tools apply only to its customers |
Do these comparisons before buying a router or upgrading a broadband plan. A purchase is more useful after the tests point to a specific signal or capacity limitation.

- COVERAGE IN EVERY ROOM: Covers up to 1,500 sq. ft. for up to 20 connected devices. Walls, floors, and interference can reduce range. Larger or multi-story homes may benefit from a NETGEAR Orbi mesh WiFi system.
If the server is sending the livestream
For an outgoing stream, check YouTube Live Control Room or the encoder’s warnings and inspect the stream’s health status. Do not treat a viewer’s buffering as proof of an encoder fault, or an encoder warning as a diagnosis of one viewer’s Wi‑Fi.
Google’s Live Streaming API health-status documentation describes configuration issues that can help diagnose stream quality. Examples include keyframes not being sent often enough and YouTube not receiving enough video for smooth streaming. Use the warnings shown for the actual stream rather than changing encoder settings speculatively.

Why live video can interrupt when other videos do not
Live playback has less opportunity to build a read-ahead buffer than on-demand video. YouTube’s surfaced latency guidance explains that lower latency leaves the player with less buffer and can make interruptions more likely; congestion can also affect live programming. A viewer usually cannot change the broadcaster’s latency mode, so treat this as context—not a setting to change on the home server. Buffering may still result from the local Wi‑Fi, the internet path, the playback device, or the stream itself.
If you use JioFiber
JioFiber customers can use the provider’s diagnostics for issues such as weak Wi‑Fi signal, an offline router, speed drops, or device overload. Follow JioFiber’s diagnostic guidance if it applies to your connection. Customers with other ISPs should use their provider’s own diagnostics or support channel.
