The Fisher & Paykel CI604ZCTPB2 is a 60 cm, four-zone induction cooktop with SmartZone and a specified 20 A service. Its most distinctive feature is the ability to combine two cooking zones for larger cookware. Whether it is a good fit for your kitchen depends less on its headline width than on your cabinet cutout, electrical supply and the pan sizes you use. Publicly available review information does not establish a comparative performance verdict.
What is the CI604ZCTPB2?
This is a Series 5 induction cooktop with four cooking zones and a stated maximum output of 4.5 kW. Fisher & Paykel lists it as a low-current model, with a 20 A service at 220–240 V, 50 Hz. Those specifications describe the appliance; they do not confirm that a particular home circuit is suitable.

Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsWhat does SmartZone do?
SmartZone pairs two cooking zones and controls them together, creating a larger cooking area for items such as a griddle, large pan or whole fish. Fisher & Paykel describes the feature as linking two zones so they operate as one. It is the model’s clearest practical distinction, but it does not make every oversized pan suitable: the cookware still needs an induction-compatible base and dimensions that work with the cooking area.

Induction cooktops require cookware compatible with induction. Before buying new pans, check the cookware manufacturer’s compatibility information and the cooktop manual’s guidance on pan bases and usable diameters. CHOICE’s model listing includes usable pan diameter and layout information, though it does not establish independent test results in the publicly accessible material. CHOICE’s CI604ZCTPB2 listing
Will it fit an existing countertop?
Do not use “60 cm” as a fit check. Fisher & Paykel’s Series 5 planning guide, Version C (September 2025), gives overall dimensions of 600 × 530 × 61 mm, a 560 × 490 mm cutout and a 1200 mm connection cable. The guide explicitly is not installation guidance and directs owners to the product-specific installation information. Confirm the existing opening, required clearances and local installation requirements before purchase. Series 5 Induction Cooktops Planning Guide

- Choose from 20 preset power levels (100 to 1800 W) and 20 preset temperature level settings (100 °F to 460 °F). With an 83% energy efficiency, induction burner is more efficient than traditional gas or electric stoves
- DIGITAL LCD SENSOR: Touch control panel: child safety lock keeps the cooking and timer settings from being accidentally changed once they have been set; fast boil button; keep warm button (for 1-30 minutes at 140 °F); up to 10-hour timer button
- Induction stoves rely on cookware to heat, so it’s essential to choose magnetic bottom cookware with a minimum diameter of 5 inches. Auto-pan detection will shut off automatically after 60 seconds if no cookware, or the incorrect cookware is detected
- Although induction itself is a noiseless process, there may be high pitched sounds from the cookware due to multiple layers of metals sandwiched together. Please allow the induction cooker to cool down before cleaning
Does it work on a 20 A circuit?
The product is specified for a 20 A service at 220–240 V, 50 Hz, and Fisher & Paykel markets the 4.5 kW model as suitable for replacement and renovation. “Low current” is not a guarantee that it can be connected to any existing circuit: the circuit, wiring and installation must meet the appliance’s requirements and local rules. Have a licensed electrician assess the specific installation before relying on an existing connection.
What do independent reviews establish?
CHOICE’s exact-model page lists four zones, 4.5 kW maximum output, dimensions, installation dimensions, pan information, a two-year warranty entry extendable to five years if registered, and an Australian price of A$1,699 as captured in 2026. CHOICE identifies the model as tested from 2024 onward, but its expert rating and test scores are members-only; the accessible listing does not support a claim that this model outperforms alternatives.

- Potentially a good match: someone who wants four induction zones, expects to use larger cookware, and can confirm the required cutout and electrical service.
- Check carefully first: anyone replacing a cooktop in an existing counter or hoping to reuse a circuit. The specified dimensions and 20 A service need to be checked against the actual installation.
- Compare alternatives: look at electrical service, SmartZone versus separate zones, cutout dimensions, usable cookware sizes and accessible independent test results. The Series 5 planning guide distinguishes 20 A low-current versions from 32 A versions, and model suffixes matter.
