- Open Text to Speech. Fish Audio’s product page lists Drama 3 as available in this workflow. The controls and labels may change while the model is in preview.
- Enter the text or dialogue. For a scene, add speakers and assign each one a voice; Fish Audio says it can generate the dialogue together.
- Add direction where it belongs. Describe delivery in plain language, insert a sound or pause at the relevant point, or select words and apply a scoped effect such as Whisper, Slower, Stress, or Forceful.
- Generate several takes. Fish Audio says results vary between takes and recommends generating a few, then choosing the best performance.
- Review the whole passage. Listen for whether the cue sounds natural in context, including transitions into and out of the selected words. Adjust the direction or text and generate again if needed.
The page also demonstrates Auto Tag, which adds directions to a scene. These are capabilities Fish Audio describes or shows; they are not independent test results about consistency or quality.

Preview status and availability
Drama 3 is labeled a preview, and Fish Audio’s FAQ says it is still improving. The company’s guidance is direct: “Drama 3 is still improving. Results vary between takes, so generate a few and pick the best.” Expect some iteration rather than identical results from every generation, and do not treat product demonstrations as a guarantee of a particular voice or emotional performance.
Fish Audio’s Apple App Store listing includes a Drama 3 Preview feature in its September 2026 version history, alongside newer app versions. That corroborates that the mobile app has featured the preview; it does not establish a universal release date or availability in every country or territory.

Multiple speakers and API use
For dialogue, Fish Audio says the editor can add speakers with individual voices and generate a scene together. That supports a multi-speaker workflow, but the launch material does not provide a reproducible comparison of how well speakers remain distinct across every script or take.
The product page also includes an API example for text-to-speech generation. There is an identifier mismatch on that same page: the sample header uses drama-3-preview, while surrounding API text and the FAQ use drama-3. Developers should verify the live API documentation and current accepted model identifier before integrating; neither spelling should be assumed definitive based on the inconsistency alone.

Check the current terms for the plan you use, and make sure you have the rights to any voice or reference audio involved.
