Famitsu is the first reported outlet to publish a full-game review of Final Fantasy Resonance, scoring it 36/40. Early length estimates put a story-focused playthrough at about 20–40 hours, while players pursuing optional content should budget roughly 70–80 hours. Those figures come from different sources, so they are best treated as a range rather than a fixed completion-time promise.
Famitsu delivered the first reported full-game review
The first full review identified for Final Fantasy Resonance is Famitsu’s 36/40 score, reported in 2026. That is a review of the complete game, rather than an impressions piece based on a demo or preview build.

The score answers who reviewed the game first, but it does not establish a universal playtime. Square Enix had not published an official campaign-length figure in the reports available for the game.

The most defensible expectation is 20–40 hours for the main story, with a much longer route for optional objectives and collection.

| Play style | Reported time | Attribution and qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Story-focused run | 20–30 hours | Figure cited by the Famitsu-related report from the FF Resonance Wiki, 2026 |
| Complete the JRPG | 30–40 hours | Producer Keisuke Nakashima’s estimate, reported by GamesRadar+, 2026 |
| Extra content or completionist play | Up to 70–80 hours | Up to 70 hours in the Famitsu-related report; up to 80 hours in Nakashima’s estimate |
The 20–30-hour and 30–40-hour numbers are not necessarily contradictory. They describe different expectations and come from separate sources and stages of reporting. A player who follows the critical path may finish near the lower end; a slower run with exploration, battles and side activities can move toward 40 hours. The current completionist band is approximately 70–80 hours.

Is Resonance a 20-hour game or a 40-hour game?
Both descriptions can be accurate depending on how you play and which estimate you use. For planning purposes, reserve 20–40 hours for the story. If you intend to clear optional activities and pursue completion, plan for 70–80 hours. Until an official playtime is published, these attributable ranges are more reliable than a single promised number.
