In Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, support levels do two main things: they increase the combat bonuses characters receive when fighting near one another, and they can unlock conversations or help meet some recruitment requirements. The level number and a conversation’s C, B, A, or S rank are related but not interchangeable. Exact stat-bonus values by pair and distance are not established in the available guides.
What support levels do
Support represents a bond between characters, measured on a numerical scale from level 1 to level 5 in a current gameplay guide. Its immediate tactical benefit is a stronger stat bonus when bonded characters are positioned near each other in battle. A GamesRadar+ review also describes bonds as buffs applied when units fight adjacent to one another.

Support also connects to character scenes and, for some recruits, recruitment conditions. It is not a universal unlock: the gameplay guide says not every pair has every conversation, and a support threshold may be only one requirement alongside Renown or other conditions.

Support level numbers versus conversation ranks
The level is the bond’s numerical value; C, B, A, and S label conversation ranks. The current guide reports these common thresholds:
#1 Best Overall
- Here, order is maintained by the Church of Seiros from its headquarters at Garreg Mach Monastery, home to the Officers Academy, where you’re invited to teach one of its three mighty houses: The Black Eagles, The Blue Lions, and The Golden Deer.
- Which house will you choose?
- As its professor, you must lead your students in class and in tactical RPG battles wrought with strategic, new twists to overcome.
| Numerical support level | Conversation rank reported | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | None indicated | The bond begins at this level. |
| 2 | C | Reported for most pairings that have a conversation. |
| 3 | B | Reported for most pairings that have a conversation. |
| 4 | A | Reported for most pairings that have a conversation. |
| 5 | S | Reported for Eshmel later in the game. |
These are guide-reported mappings, not a guarantee that every character pairing has all four scenes. A separate fan guide also distinguishes the level scale from conversation ranks and reports an S-rank scene and paired ending for Eshmel. That does not establish broad romance eligibility or mean every S-rank is romantic.
How the combat bonuses work
The guide describes the bonus as increasing with support level and applying when bonded units are positioned near one another; the review specifically mentions adjacency. The sources do not establish verified bonus amounts for individual stats, character pairs, or distances, so there is no reliable universal value to quote. Check the game’s own battle information for the specific effect shown for your units rather than assuming every bond grants the same numbers.

How to raise support
The gameplay guide reports different bond-building activities depending on whether a character has joined your roster. It does not quantify how much support each activity grants or establish that every activity is available in every circumstance.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems| When available | Reported support-building activities |
|---|---|
| Before recruitment | Give gifts, share meals, and watch a show. |
| After recruitment | Fight together, train in the arena, take part in Temple Service, attend world-map feasts, act at the theater, and visit the Thermae. |
Some free-time activities compete with other uses of those opportunities, as noted in the review, so choose based on the character or other goal you are prioritizing. The guide also reports that support levels carry across all four Hero routes; Nintendo’s official materials describe the game as unfolding across four paths told from different protagonists’ perspectives, but do not themselves confirm this support mechanic.

Support and recruitment: what to check
If you are pursuing a recruit, treat support as one possible gate rather than the whole checklist. The review notes Renown and bond-building among possible requirements, while the guide says some recruits need a support threshold alongside Renown or other conditions. Verify the recruit’s stated conditions in-game before spending limited opportunities solely to raise a bond.
What is confirmed about the game
Nintendo lists Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave for Nintendo Switch 2 and gives September 17, 2026 as its release date. Nintendo’s developer interview frames the series as a tactical RPG combining character development with turn-based, grid-based battles. The official materials establish the title and broad context; the specific support thresholds, activities, and persistence described above come from third-party guides and a review.
