These are navigation and continuity features, not evidence of measured productivity gains. The descriptions below are reported by PonyMux, not independently tested.
What does search actually find?
Press ⌘K to open PonyMux’s sidebar search. It searches a Terminal’s name and the latest session’s prompt, recap, and last reply. Every word in your query must match somewhere across those fields; the words do not all have to appear in one field. Results include context snippets, the provider, the Terminal’s list path, and elapsed time since activity.

Search is deliberately focused on current work: it checks only the latest session for each Terminal and excludes trashed Terminals. Results are ranked by where a match appears—Terminal title first, then prompt, then recap—with a recency boost. The available scopes are:

If you need to find an older conversation rather than the latest session, use the Sessions panel. PonyMux says the latest-session-only limit is intended to avoid stale matches in search. PonyMux’s 0.9.0 article describes the feature and its ranking behavior.

What was that terminal doing again?
When you return to a sleeping Terminal, PonyMux 0.9.0 can show a short wake summary with the agent, its prior task, and the time of its last activity. PonyMux says that before this update, the sleeping Terminal displayed a captured screen without a summary, leaving you to decide whether to resume or start fresh without that context.
A summary depends on the transcript still being available. If it has been deleted, compressed, or moved, PonyMux marks it unavailable and offers Shell Only instead of implying that the conversation can be resumed. The article also says agents that were running when PonyMux quit appear in the Agents sidebar after restart.

Can I continue this in a different agent?
Yes, by handing context from one provider to another—for example, from Claude Code to Codex, or the other way around. PonyMux writes up to five recent turns, tool summaries, and an available recap into a readable Markdown file, then launches the target CLI with that file as context.
This starts a new session in the target provider; it does not transfer the full transcript or alter the source session. The original session remains available to resume in its original provider. Choose handoff when selected context is enough to continue; stay with the source provider when you need the original session’s full conversation.

What the features do—and do not—establish
Search, wake summaries, and handoff address the practical problem of keeping track of several agent sessions: finding current work, seeing what a sleeping session was doing, and carrying a limited amount of context into a new provider. PonyMux’s article reports no measured user count, time saved, search accuracy, throughput, or other quantitative productivity result, so it does not establish that these features make agents more productive or let users scale to a particular number of sessions.
